I've noticed a lot of ops trying to hide themselves with the disguises plugin. Honestly, I can't blame them, because that way, it makes them less of a target for random people trying to dick around with them and screw up their privacy. It feels like an unnecessary restriction that we prevent OPs from vanishing, so I suggest that we allow it, although under the condition that admins can still see vanished OPs. This would probably only take a few quick permissions changes to implement.
Allow ops to vanish

Give that they can vanish if this suggestion gets approved, doesn't that mean we need to modify how vanish works?
Im going Neutral, still not sure why its necessary.
-
Object, I'd only see this being used for trolling more than actual productive reasons. If they want to stop someone messing with their builds, they can /tptoggle.
-
@Shdwo#9359
If I'm at spawn making a build, no point using /tptoggle
-
@simplynick#9358 It's not "necessary" - it's something to help OPs have a better time. Only "necesarry" if we want ops to have options and have a good experience.
-
@Panther#9341
I also vouch. before we implemented the proper conduct policy, one of the main rules that was focused on was "Respect privacy".
This rule I feel is a big part to making what TotalFreedom is really about

@Darth#9368 Operators can still have a good quality time on the server without going vanish, thats my point of view anyways.

@simplynick#9370 You are correct, but that doesn't really mean anything. I can point at any random feature on the server and say that OPs can still have a good time by doing other things if that one feature didn't exist.

Edit: oh, and vouch

So my thoughts are this feels like a better solution to playing a game of wack a mole on disguises, which is probably even more annoying.
I'd like us to look at blocking the non standard blocks from disguise and look at ideas for how we can give ops the ability to vanish but ideally find a good way for admins to see them, though even then given we have core protect and command spy, I'm not sure it's that important we see ops anyway?
-
object, This Helps griefers,
if there are no safeguards for this,
it's going to be misused to high hell. -
@DefinetlynotVoidShade#9620 The safeguards are that admins can see who is vanished.
If this was implemented can we also make sure that vanished admins won't come up as well?

what are you talking about /v and /v -s already exists for admins which hides them.

i think it would be useful in the case that its being used to invade someone elses privacy or someone is generally doing something untraceable and dodgy or just trolling, especially with fireworks
there must be someway admins should be able to see vanished ops at all times, even in creative as i personally switch to spectator just to see invisible people. and sometimes they use disguise so thats kinda difficult. until then im neutral because whilst giving operators more options for their experience is generally better engagement wise, i also see @Shdwo#9359's point on this since realistically most people would probably use it for trolling.

@lyicx#9674 If it can be set up so that admins can see vanished admins, it can definitely be set up in a similar way so that admins can see vanished ops. The only difference would be that ops do not have the permission to view vanished members (which is already the case) so all we should really have to do is allow ops to run the command and it would already function that way.
-
@Panther#9682 Admin's can't see other vanished admins though? Or am I mis-remembering...
