evkc (eva) freedom admin application

  • > Have you first read the pre-application checklist (Click Here) and do you meet all the requirements and agree to all the standards within that checklist? (Yes or No). If no, your application will be instantly denied.
    Yes.

    > What is your Minecraft name and time zone where you normally are online? (e.g. GMT+1:00 or MST). - Your Minecraft name must match your forum name or your Minecraft name must be in your forum profile.
Minecraft username: evkc, Timezone: GMT (or BST)

    > What date did you first join the Total Freedom forum? (MM/DD/YY). - Required 1 month forum registration.
I cannot remember the date at which I first joined the forum since it was so long ago /before 2020) but I'll use my second account which is the earliest account I've had on the recent forums (saxophone), which was made on 11/01/20

    > Do you have a discord account? If yes, post your username#discriminator here. (Not required, but highly suggested).
Yes, "evkc" (discriminators defunct as of the change of the handle format by Discord, I am on the new username system, former username eva#0365 which can be seen via the badge on my profile)

    > What describes you best? Choose student, employed, unemployed, or retired.
    Unemployed.

    > Do have any skills such as artistic design, coding, computer security, etc? If Yes, provide detail.
I have a good amount of knowledge in operational security/computer security as I use things in my daily computing life (Linux for example over Windows) as I put myself first in security and computer freedom, in conjunction with this I also have a good hand in software development (coding, primarily I specialise in Java but I do have a handful of knowledge on languages such as python, javascript, golang and others such as lua) as I do make certain projects now and again in these languages.

    > How often can you be on the server to perform administrative duties? State either daily, several times a week, once or twice a week, or less than once a week. We realize that school or work will prevent constant service.
Most weekdays after noon and weekends vary from early morning to late evening, I'll be sure to provide notice if I am not able to be of service for an extended period of time. (essentially I will be active daily but not at the same timeframe consistently)

    > Names of admins that have recommended you? (Must pm admin(s) to confirm recommendation.)
Lyicx and Gommeh. (I have confirmed beforehand with them)

    > Do you have a family member or friend that shares your Minecraft account or a Minecraft playing family member with their own Minecraft account who might use our server or forum? (Yes or No). If so, are they presently an admin on Total Freedom? (Yes or No).
    No.

    > What personal qualities do you have that would make you a good admin? (Answer with a short paragraph).
I'm a very nice and reasonable person to talk to and I generally get on well with people, I am fairly neutral when it comes to decision making such as banning a person I may be friendly with which means I have no problems enforcing the guidelines of the server on anyone who chooses to break them. I have a good deal of knowledge in how to moderate and I have been familiar with the commands used in TFM to administrate before (back when there were TotalFreedom clones/servers running TFM) although I may need a refresher of the commands so I may take a few moments to get used of it, but I think I'm in a well suited mindset to handle this position.

    > What continent do you live on? (e.g. N. America, Europe, Asia, Australia/Oceania).
    Europe.

    > Can you handle being an admin without it negatively affecting your school grades, work, family, real life, etc? (Yes or No). If no, your application will be instantly denied.
    Yes.

    > Have you read and understood the note(s) below? (Yes or no).
    Yes.

    > Are your accounts secure? Meaning are your passwords strong, not easily brute-forced, and not used across multiple websites?
Yes, I have 2FA on my most critical stuff but not on disposable stuff which I use seperate email addresses for which are disposable, I have a keepassxc (password manager used on Linux and other systems) database which ensures maximal security in which I use to access my passwords which are uniquely generated and are usually greater than 16 characters in length for every service, I do use less secure/randomised passwords for local stuff not accessible digitally on the public internet (only physically) such as my computer but I am the only person in use of my computer and the password is 10+ characters.

    • Official Post

i vouch and rec. i believe eva is fit for this position due to her activity and general behavior in the server is quite engaging and positive.

furthermore i think she's generally bright and shit on a technical level and since the whole log4j shit has kept her nose clean

  • I object because I believe Eva will always act in the interests of her immediate friend group above TotalFreedom at large, and therefore given that evidence has arisen that admin notes were leaked between an admin (presumed, but not confirmed to be Declan) and maniaplay, placing Eva in an admin role poses a security risk to TotalFreedom.

  • Vouch and confirm rec. she's kind, really active in the community and a good person to talk to. Would make a great addition to the team.

  • placing Eva in an admin role poses a security risk to TotalFreedom.

I wholeheartedly disagree. For as long as I've known Eva (going on what, 3 years now?), she has always been a very impartial person & not afraid to dole out punishments/criticism to her immediate friend group.

and therefore given that evidence has arisen that admin notes were leaked between an admin (presumed, but not confirmed to be Declan)

I find it quite funny that you're bringing up an on-going investigation where a culprit hasn't been identified (hint: Declan didn't do it) in an administrator application of which the only connection is that the applicant and the user who was allegedly leaked their admin notes (4 words by the way, "Obsessed with maliciously exploiting.") are friends. We can't exactly be demoting Video just because he's friends with maniaplay, now can we?
