It is annoying and players lose their stuff after a smite.
Remove clearing inventories from smite

Pretty sure it was intentionally implemented. A discussion will be needed on whether if we should remove it or not.

Could we not add a -noclear suffix
-
Was gonna add a suggestion like Jaguar's
Vouch if we add this to bans and with a -noclear tag
-
Vouch for Jaguar's suggestion.

Vouch for the above.

i vouch for jaggy's proposal here
-
@jjjaguar2000#12053 Vouch for this
-
I'd suggest we want it the other way around, have something where it's opt in to clear inv. Otherwise it should follow the server game rules for keeping inventory on death.
-
@wild1145#12081
If a server crasher comes on and has their items in their inventory, they can just opt in and when they are next unbanned they can just use them if their inventory remains
-
@Ashaz#12082 I don't see how that's an issue?? If you want to smite someone and clear their inventory then you could do something like /smite -ci Ashaz bad blocks for example, rather than having to run /smite -noclear naughtyperson for a reason that has nothing to do with their inventory...
The native /smite behaviour is what we should look to go back to, with the ability to add a clear inventory flag on smite, rather than the other way around was my point.
-
I would much rather have to specify clearing inventory than specify not clearing inventory.

@wild1145#12083
Sorry I misunderstood your post

To determine whether it should be -ci or -noclear, I think it makes the most sense to look at which of the two scenarios is more common. There are not that many offenses where the player keeping their inventory after a smite is really unacceptable, so -ci would probably lead to the least amount of extra typing.
-
Bump, more inputs are needed before we can raise a ticket.
There is a discussion about which argument to implement (-ci or -noclear) and I want to get it all cleared up.

-ci is more memorable in my opinion.
-
Who wants -ci and who wants -nc?
-
vouch, it should be -ci, easier to remember and smiting is more often used when dealing with situations that don't include someone having some funky blocks in their inventory
-
Vouch, I think for default; Smites shouldn't clear inventories, I also think that doing /smite (username) (reason) [-c] would be better (c = clear, just like the essential plugin)
