Small change to rule 3g

Please Note: The TotalFreedom Forum has now been put into a read-only mode. Total Freedom has now closed down and will not be returning in any way, shape or form. It has been a pleasure to lead this community and I wish you all the best for your futures.
  • Well the timing is funny, as we're discussing how to moderate NSFW messages, but I swear I've thought about it before all of this :joy: Anyway...

Since Ryan made a clarification before the Discord purge, admins usually intervene in case there's NSFW stuff
within spawn area or public warps, as well as if somebody invites other players to see them (unless it's a irl friend, in that case they should communicate in private)

I propose to change rule 3g of the Server Conduct Policy for more transparency to the following:

    Quote

    g. Pornographic / NSFW builds if in a 250 block radius of spawn or warp locations, advertisement of such builds or discussion of Pornographic / NSFW Content in the server chat.

  • Changed to Neutral, Dragon has a good point, however, if an op put down a warp at an NSFW build, and then reported it, the op that put down the warp could probably be sanctioned for framing.

Folfy_Blue the person who set up the warp should be sanctionne

due to how the logs work we wouldn’t be able to know that they made the warp

Tizz they'd wait so long to report because they'd have malicious intent to frame the builder for the offence of having set the warp and the difficulty in finding the setwarp command from a few days ago wouldn't be worth it for a sec 3.

I vouch on the basis that NSFW warps remain allowed, but they just cannot be advertised publically (and privately, I'd like it to be a violation of the rule if someone who doesn't wanna see an nsfw warp is tricked into seeing it.)

There are over 2,500 warps and in order for this to be enforced staff members would have to go through every one pretty consistently. Which is a hassle if there ever was one.

I'm sorry, but cost benefit analysis says this is just not a good idea to outlaw something that's very hard to moderate.

  •   erin I think the general rule so far has been "if we happen to find it, we either delete it or move / hide the stuff". Until the warp system's redesigned with proper security (e.g. having a warp owner) we should go with the "innocent until proven otherwise" attitude.

  •   Folfy_Blue the reason why I specified reporting one day later is because of how our logs are set up, at the moment the only logs that admins can get is the latest.log file, meaning that whenever there’s a sever restart or if anything goes wrong, we don’t have those logs, and so this op could theoretically make a report after a restart or something like that and could effectively frame another person for putting a build at a warp.

Yeah I agree with this, as long as the builder of the nsfw build isn’t advertising the warp I think it’s fine

To add to my above post this would then be rephrased to:

    Quote

    g. Pornographic / NSFW builds if in a 250 block radius of spawn, advertisement by the builder of such builds for NSFW builds, or discussion of Pornographic / NSFW Content in the public chat.

I switched server chat to public chat because of how many diffrent chat things we have (admin chat, guild chat, main chat, plot chat, etc.)

  • This should now be addressed into the overarching new community guidelines. If it's not let me know and I'll re-open this for conversation.
