Apparently, vanilla /say has been replaced by a plugin, and /minecraft:say is not allowed, meaning I cannot use /say. (I want to use it for clickevents in a book) Can we possibly change either the plugin command so ops can use the vanilla command?
/say

/say is the admin command that makes our chat messages pink and like this
[Server:username] » message
Going to wait until I cast a vote or my opinion on this.

I believe whatever version of /say we're using is supposed to send a broadcast message so it makes sense that staff members use it when speaking officially.
Broadcast messages done with /say probably bypass recipients' ignore list, if so, I'm sure it won't be unlocked for OPs.

We intentionally don't allow this for various reasons and crested an alternative for admin only usage.

The main reason that the vanilla /say is currently overriden is that it allows you to use a feature called target selectors. A simple /say @e will spam the chat to no end.

↩ StevenNL2000 ...assuming it doesn't outright kick everyone from there being too many entity names.

Going to deny this, we have our own version of /say as I mentioned earlier in the thread, and I think it makes sense for that to remain restricted to admins only for the time being for server announcements.
