I would like to introduce another option (that Ryan would probably also be fine with). We can make it so that blocks with gravity do not fall down, but instead instantly teleport to the bottom. This circumvents the lag issue while still allowing you to use gravity for building.
The Case for Block Gravity
Please Note: The TotalFreedom Forum has now been put into a read-only mode. Total Freedom has now closed down and will not be returning in any way, shape or form. It has been a pleasure to lead this community and I wish you all the best for your futures.

@StevenNL2000#18101 This would be an issue with massive edits.
-
@Fleek#18102 I would agree if massive edits happened all at once, but AsyncWorldEdit spreads the placement of blocks over time, so the custom gravity checks would also be spread over time. There is also an API method to very efficiently check blocks in a column.

@StevenNL2000#18101 I think that’s a pretty interesting solution i’ve never thought of that before.
Sounds fine to me.

vouch for option 1

I like Steve's idea. If not viable, I'd stick with the current option (the 4th) and let admins know the responsibility... falls on them.

If Fleek is happy that we can have a system to insta-TP the blocks to the lowest point they would naturally fall as AWE is placing them, then I'm happy to approve this as an enhancement to the gravity blocking and move it from an on / off option also then support the insta-tp approach.
