super epic lindog update
so in terms of backup bollocks, i believe i had to actually have my OS on a BTRFS file system and not an ex4 one. i dont think 32 GB's will be enough for many rsync backups but thankfully i only really care about the system files so shouldn't take that much up
i've had stupid slowdowns to a point where i had to force restart my PC and thensome. thankfully running e4defrag / made everything snappier again so chances are this is more of a hard drive issue
customization. i didn't quite get the look i was going for but i ended up with something like this. i would really like an apptray tho
gaming, i've tried Tiberium Sun again and the windows version of Saints row 4 (despite it having a native linux version) and apart from a few lag spikes on SR4 it was fairly flawless. i also tried minecraft and got a decent FPS boost under my identical configuration. also managed to open telnet so that was swaz
in terms of the actual speed. i still think manjaro was snappier

It tells you the error, alright.
However, it may not:
Tell you what the error MEANS.
Tell you how to FIX this error.
Tell you what went wrong. There's not really much debug info for you to work with in Linux, as opposed to Windows. However, Windows isn't the fastest, the most lightweight, the most customizable, or anything else, for that matter.

↩ @'r00t' mate imagine if i said i could use windows 95 forever. eventually 8.1 will get demolished in time because of developments in software will require new os bollocks shit. sure theres patches for 9x and xp and vista and all that bollocks but that wont ever really last
convoluted i know but i hope someone can translate what i meant by this
-
someone edit pop os to add mini/maximize buttons and call it bobpop os

extended support for 8.1 ends on 2023 on i suppose youre right (but also wrong because people could make unofficial patches and apply them to older versions of windows and get themselves support support for next-gen software)
Quotethey could last, if a lot of people care about those operating systems.
vista? maybe not because of the performance issues that were encountered during its time
there may be patches for 9x and xp though -

↩ FromTimeToTime mainly that arch forum users won't help you.

↩ FromTimeToTime on KDE, you can make the app launcher open when you press the windows key w/ the following setup: right click on it in the panel, click configure app launcher, keyboard shortcuts, and set it to windows key + space.
was wondering if i could do that, ty!

↩ FromTimeToTime use EndeavourOS
i would honestly like to try this but im unsure of the desktop environment i should use like, gnome is honestly not the most responsive thing i've ever used and was a bitch to get right. KDE put a shite taste in my mouth with it being unstable and while xfce was very snappy it was quite fucky to multitask in
