Most projects have a release date set which is why he may think this update would have one too.

↩ RedEastWood I can't... We have no active development currently progressing the work to enable 1.17 and I've not been active so I have no ETA, there is no ETA. A lot of work that I had done has been undone in my absence so at this point it'll be done when it gets done. We were supposed to have done the update months ago but haven't been able to for a number of reasons.

videogamesm12 / Paldiu Do we know if this is still an issue now in 1.17, or can we re-enable this blocked command if it hasn't already been done?

↩ @'Ryan' it will always be an issue unless we can set a limitation on the radius it searches. Typically locate and locatebiome both can span outwards of thousands of blocks, which hogs up performance causing major tps dips.

Subject to it actually being fixed in a later version of MC, I've raised https://totalfreedom.atlassian.net/browse/FS-456 for it to be re-checked and un-blocked.
If one of the Developers wants to test it on the current version (1.17.x) and with the Scissors build and confirms it's already patched then I'm happy for it to be un-blocked earlier.
