Please Note: The TotalFreedom Forum has now been put into a read-only mode. Total Freedom has now closed down and will not be returning in any way, shape or form. It has been a pleasure to lead this community and I wish you all the best for your futures.

I should have written this post long ago, but I didn't really find the moment to do so.

Probably everyone has noticed that I am barely active anymore. The truth is that I do not have neither the time nor the energy for maintaining my current roles of Executive, Senior Admin and Discord moderator on this server.

I want to apologize to everyone for not upholding the duties and responsibilities I should have been handling. I know I probably have let people down because of this, but I cannot change the past.
I hope that whoever comes after me can cover the needs of this community which I failed to satisfy.

I may still hop on the server from time to time, but I will not be checking in frequently.

It was good while it lasted. Farewell.

I remember this being suggested in the past, though it got denied. Even then, immense vouch.

FreeOP gets extremely monotonous in my opinion. Do the occassional build, chat with the very few people that are on, and not much more.
It may be my bias in favor of Pokémon speaking, but I feel Pixelmon makes you have more goals, even more than the SMP. Catching Pokémon, creating and trying different strategies against other people...
The champion idea also looks like a bit of a good incentive. Perhaps once you reach Champion you can get some rewards as well. Maybe the gym leaders could be switched up periodically.
For the events, maybe there could be some kind of drop party but with Pokémon, with some of them also being shiny. We could go for some unique tournaments, maybe Monotype tournaments (only teams of Pokémon that belong to a certain type), and, if it was possible, Hackmon tournaments (teams of Pokémon with random habilities and moves, even those not normally obtainable by the Pokémon, these could be provided by the staff team and removed after the event)

For survival Pixelmon, I definitely think there could be some kind of easy way to access certain biomes. No one wants to spend 7 hours searching for a biome a rare Pokémon spawns in.
Coins in events could be used to buy TMs, perhaps. Or maybe there could be IV/EV boosters. Perhaps items to spawn (not instantly capture) a random legendary, or a random Pokémon egg. There are also Pokémon with special textures in Pixelmon from what I've read, so those are also an option.

In creative mode you lose the excitement of actually finding and the Pokémon, since they are all at your disposal with commands. Sure, you can compete against others and still have the leaders and the champion, but I don't find it all as rewarding, in my opinion. And even if we had those, we'd have to be careful with teams that use illegal Pokémon if we wish to stay balanced. I doubt anyone would have fun fighting against a Pikachu with Wonder Guard and Air Balloon that also knows Rest. And I also doubt anyone would have an easy time tracking what moves/habilities are legal or not in each of the 800 Pokémon there are.
Creative mode Pixelmon sounds interesting, but is in my point of view not much of a good idea. I still think it'd be better than regular FreeOP, though.

In short, I think survival Pixelmon would be the best option, though I can't really come up with any original ideas for it at the moment.

Master Builders are members whose purpose is to contribute to official building projects.
Darth and I have observed that recently there have been individuals who have either not shown their willingness to uphold this purpose or have gone inactive. We have purged such members from the team, although they are free to reinstate at will as long as they agree to help out and be active.
The following members have been removed from the Master Builder list:

    • Rhymix
    • xfilez
    • UnderTails
    • iqBurger
    • korrianderravage
    • Lakefield
    • paiige_1

Additionally, in light of recent griefing-related events as well as general conduct, fssp (irix/Mosley/ShadowArmadyl) has been removed from the list. His return to the team is only permitted after an evaluation by the ECD.

I’m pleased to announce that thanks to the help of the Master Builder team, we have completed a Christmas-themed map to be used on the Hub World for the holidays! This will also coincide with the conversion of TF to a bungee network to allow for more stability.

I am especially thankful to these builders for all the work they put into getting a map done in time for Christmas, even though they had just a few hours before it had to be done.
Here are the most helpful builders for the project:

    Darth
    David
    Motionally
    Dragonslayer
    Neo
    Feueristic

You can see the hub by connecting to play.totalfreedom.me - have fun exploring!

Apparently people can exploit this to trap people in nether portals. They cover the nether portal (in the nether) in obsidian. The players who go through the overworld portal are switched into survival, and they can't use chat, nor break neither the obsidian nor the portal. This issue can be easily fixed by making creative the default gamemode.

It's also been a few weeks since this was suggested.

This post will contain decisions made by the Executive Creative Designer, such as handling of Master Builder applications and suggestions related to the Master Builder team, and organized building projects.

1st of November, 2020: Appointed DarthZonarius as the Assistant Executive Creative Designer.
12th of November, 2020: Finished the initial Hub World project (keep in mind it will be expanded in the future).
29th of November, 2020: Approved littleconnor1's Master Builder application.
11th of December, 2020: Approved Hyfae/Motionally's Master Builder application.
24th of December, 2020: Finished holiday version of the hub.

Today, on TotalFreedom’s Decade Anniversary, I am proud to announce that with the help of the Master Builder team, both the spawn point and terrain of the hub world map have been completed.
We will temporarily open the server where the hub world is located to the public for the time being, until we can bungee the hub world to the main FreeOP server.

A lot of effort was put into this, as the members of the team working on it attended multiple meetings to coordinate the build. A full list of all the people who worked on this can be found on the server, but here are some shoutouts for the most committed builders.

    • Darth
    • ItzDerpDavid
    • Neo
    • Feueristic
    • Dragon
    • hyfae
    • Tozzit

The hub world is not entirely complete. However the fun part is that it will be worked on in real-time, and all players will be able to view future progress on it whenever they want. The whole world is a 5,000 x 5,000 custom map, so there’s a lot of space for us to build, and for you to explore!

The IP to the server is mbserver.play.totalfreedom.me - hop on and check it out!
