  • Hello,

Today the Plexus development team is releasing version 1.1 of Plex. We have an insane amount of changes, so get ready...

    (Corresponding forum post: https://forum.plex.us.org/threads/plex-1-1-released.7/)

    What is Plex

Plex is a new freedom plugin. It is an alternative to TotalFreedomMod. It has many of the features that make a freedom server unique, but also many features that TotalFreedomMod doesn’t have. For example, there is full support for using a permissions plugin instead of ranks. It is also much more performance oriented. You can use Redis to store indefinite bans and store player data in MongoDB, MariaDB, or SQLite. Plex is also fully customizable as you can change almost all of the messages within the plugin. Plex is not a rewrite, “debloat”, or related to TotalFreedomMod. Plex is an entirely new experience.

    Plexus Network

I'm excited to say that we are working towards using Plex for a real server called Plexus Network. If you're interested, you can get involved below:

    - Forums: https://forum.plex.us.org
    - Discord: https://discord.plex.us.org

If you are interested in helping with Plexus Network, we are looking for help. Please join the forums and Discord and send a message on the Discord or forums letting us know you're interested. We are currently looking for people who are knowledgeable on building communities and advertising. We are also looking for testers and potential staff members.

    Upgrade Path

We suggest regenerating your messages.yml file. Also ensure you update all the modules to version 1.1 or later. You can download all the modules from our CI Server at https://ci.plex.us.org/view/Modules/

    Module-NUSH

Introducing Module-NUSH developed by Allink and Luna, this module helps combat raids. The premise is simple. When raid mode is activated, new players messages aren't actually sent to everyone. They're only sent to themselves (to make them think it went through) and staff members. If a new legitimate player joins, you can approve them and their messages will send normally.

    Module-BukkitTelnet

Due to the TotalFreedom General License, we are unable to provide binaries of our modified BukkitTelnet. Allink has come up with a solution. If you load the module without BukkitTelnet (or an older version of it), it will now compile BukkitTelnet in game for you. We hope this makes BukkitTelnet more accessible to potential server owners.

Not really sure if this is the best place to discuss this, but i feel like there should be an auto approval thing with this module (unless there is already, I can't check the code atm), wouldn't want a normal player trying desperately to interact with other players or like ask for help whenever a staff isn't online and they are just fucked
