    one thing i would like to make abundantly clear to the community, which i’ve said privately too, is that every decision is made for a reason. for example i’ve recently had to ban ‘kys’ from discord and that’s not cuz i woke up one morning and decided ‘you know what fuck tf i wanna revoke their ability to talk’ it was cuz i got several complaints from people about use of that word and it got out of hand

    the reason i quoted paldiu is cuz this is a good example. people may think the devs are lazy, or theyre not being given enough recognition and thats why things aren’t being done but more people need to understand how complex this server can be and the many processes we have to do in order to just push basic changes

    Dude as an exec you were the problem I mentioned in the server-management section. You refused to do your job, you sat and just bitched about literally everything, and you refused to listen when legit like nobody else wanted your idea and still tried to press it as if it’d change anything

    The crux of the issue with TF nowadays is that people won’t listen, people are toxic and people are stubborn. Your solution is, instead of trying to appeal to people and remove this unwanted behaviour, is to just fuck off all the rules.

    have a look over on maniaplay’s anarchy freedom. it has a few players often, yes. however all that i’ve seen happen there is people spamming slurs, crashing the server, etc.

    a very big part of TF in 2023 is the ability to freely build. constant disruption, toxicity, unchecked griefing will kill our playerbase.

    at what point are you just gonna let go of this idea? i’m especially pissed you’re using my thread to justify (poorly) your own shitty thing that is entirely opposite to the point i’m trying to make and ironically is proving my whole point

    not gonna vote but just gonna ask - during your application for MB i saw a fairly heated discussion where you were given criticism (which was your difficulty in taking criticism) and you did admittedly handle it well in the end but i’ve gotta ask

    what are you doing to ensure you don’t just be stubborn? admin isn’t as difficult as some people make it out but it does come with a fair bit of criticism. do we know you’re going to handle the role well?

    i left it open for just a bit of discussion - i’ve never been the ‘deny-lock’ type guy who censors discussion and all

    votes aren’t necessary. the bot was removed at first because people could hide behind it, use a shitty name and say shitty stuff and it’d take time to figure it out. not a lot of time but in some instances (i.e. doxxing) a few seconds is precious for the team.

    the second issue was that it did have an exploit where you could find private info. not to the extent of passwords but information about people’s systems, a few personal deets, etc

    additionally it didn’t function well with the TFM in-game bridge

    only one person used it, being Rylie. rylie is capable of using nicknames, and i’m happy to discuss with rylie about use of alts. outside of rylie i saw it legit be used like twice, once by ashaz to dick about and i don’t even remember who the second one was.

    i’m sorry if this isn’t the answer yall are looking for but jesus christ i don’t get how many times i can repeat myself in dms, private channels, and publicly that it isn’t coming back
