shittiest os i've ever seen, literally just windows 10 but worse and more bloated, and also more monopoly-ish (referring to how to change your default browser from edge to another one you have to manually set it for each file type, but for edge, it's just one click). can this world just move to linux distros already, thanks.

also the hardware requirements are stupid and linux can be 10x more secure on a fucking taiwan laptop from like 2008 (with selinux/apparmor, a decent firewall config, and also key pair authentication for remote access). another thing is that they are starting to claim to give you "privacy", as that's becoming more of a focus today, but in reality, they're just tracking you harder, unless you decompile that shitty operating system, violating the ToS and forcefully removing the trackers, somehow without breaking anything, and probably getting sued in the process, because all "fixed" versions of windows are very limited because of these stupid legal reasons. seriously, corporations are just unfixable and we need to move to FOSS, as proof of corps being unfixable, apple literally sends you to their marketing material that says 'we don't track you' when you click on their privacy policy link, which sounds very. fucking. illegal. the real privacy policy also says how they track you in a lot more detail, and literally proves said material false.

im just tired of corporations, i want to go to a future where there is no proprietary software, no monopolies, actually decent standards, and everything is FOSS

How hard it is to find a job nowadays. Seriously, barely anyone reaches out to you, even if you're definitely qualified, the amount of responses is ridiculously tiny. They could at least send an email or something, but no. AND on top of that THEY KEEP SAYING THERE'S A FOCKING LABOUR SHORTAGE. Mate, this shit is crazy. Your chances of getting into an interview are very, very, VERY low.

Object. Prices haven't dropped yet for FIDO2 and it would be incredibly expensive for everyone to get a key, this obviously needs to be delayed, and I do know that passwords are incredibly insecure, but we're gonna have to hold on to them for now until there is a way for prices to drop. Obviously in the meantime, an alternative could be found, but due to simjacking, it can't be SMS-Based 2FA. For information, according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, simjacking is a type of account takeover fraud that targets a weakness into two-factor authentication in with the second factor is a text message or a call. This has been slightly oversimplified, but it's basically the same as you would find on Wikipedia. A ton of high-profile hacks using simjacking have occurred using said method, even hacking the account of Twitter's CEO himself, yeah I know, that's pretty embarrassing. In May 2020, a lawsuit was filed against an 18 year old high school senior, who, for privacy reasons, I will not say the name of, or where to find it. The high school senior was accused of deceiving the digital currency investor known as Micahel Terpin, who is the CEO of Transform Group. This was supposedly done through simjacking. However, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), listed some techniques to combat said attacks. However, I could not find these techniques, and only articles saying that they would start making them. But for context, it is very easy to pull off one of these attacks. Princeton researchers recently tested five major U.S. cell phone providers. They were alarmingly successful, completing 39 fake SIM swaps in 50 attempts. Meaning that if someone tries to use these attacks on you, the odds are definitely not in your favour. Simply put, the prices are too high, and SMS or call based two factor authentication would not work due to sim jacking attacks.

    About 3 and 4:

Passwords are shit. I know it sounds weird, but they're actually pretty weak, modern computing can do 1 trillion attempts in a second, breaking the most secure passwords in a couple of minutes..Modern 2FA is also not decent enough, as has been proven by simjacking. A FIDO2 device, preferably a NitroKey, due to the fact that it is FOSS, is actually a really good alternative to these and I would recommend buying one if you have the money. Most big services support it (but sadly, not discord.).

    Use it everywhere you can.

EDIT: I really hope Flarum supports FIDO2 so we can use it.
