  • An Open Letter

    Lack of community input is not beneficial to the server at large. People will stop playing if things are added that they do not like. Community is what TF is about. By trying to make TF "mainstream" by becoming a generic network server, you are tearing at the very fabric of this server. Those giant networks like hypixel don't have the 'close-knit community' atmosphere that servers that were always a niche gamemode like TF has. TF has always been a niche server and it has worked for all these years. By adding something drastic and new (e.g gamemodes) and telling people "if you don't like it, then leave" is not good for the playerbase, but since you can't cater to everyone, it is wise to have community input when making drastic changes such as a new gamemode instead of announcing it without input from the playerbase and then expecting us to be in full support or leave and aggressively defending it when there is expected backlash. Going a direction like that will only hurt, not grow and help the community.

    ↩ @'Panther' as far as I recall, there was a community vote to make TF premium which meant the community at large felt it was better to be premium, and if the entire network is premium it makes no sense to make/maintain this server as cracked, especially if you plan to integrate it into the TF network.

    ↩  videogamesm12 By having that server cracked, regardless of what the rules say, there will always be people who will try and do shenannigans with offensive usernames. Again, thats the price paid for having the server cracked. And bypassing bans is pretty easy with crackeds as well.
    ↩  videogamesm12 As far as I know, TF doesn't accept donations, so how is this being allowed is beyond me. Unless the stance on 'donations' was changed, this clearly goes against the spirit of TotalFreedom and at one point the policies stated "TotalFreedom does not accept donations."

    This will probably be like "every other" skyblock server (there's thousands of them anyways) and will probably fail in a few months. If you let people use cheat clients, fly and do things normally considered "unethical" by other server standards, then it'd probably live up to the "TF" in it's name, but like the SMP server it won't so it's just another generic 'spin-off' server that really doesn't live up to the name "total freedom" and is just as forgettable like every spin-off server of TF. Instead of trying to add generic gamemodes the main server should be the #1 priority where 99% of all players go to anyways and think of when they hear "TotalFreedom". Also since it's not even part of the hub or can be reached by using the main server, it technically shouldn't be considered part of the actual server since you can't even join it from TF-proper. By this logic it's just an 'affiliated' server using the TF brand.

    I like this and it's pretty epic. UUIDs make name changing a hassle-free affair and now are gone the days of having to worry about your sibling being admin'd because you share IPs. This should have been done ages ago when TF switched to indef-premium mode.
