Akefu-Brewer This allows users to create a thread to see their work in a formatted fashion. Currently, only replying allows you to see your post formatted. This lack of thread previews has led to making a number of instances where I 'replied' to a thread with a post intended for its own topic because you can see what you expect your post to look like when replying and not roll dice flarum's going to eat up your nicely formatted thread if you are going to post.
I can see what my formatting looks like when I reply to a thread.

No formatting preview when creating a thread.

characterslimits That’s because you don’t care about quality. You just care about complexity (which is what appeals everyone for some reason). If I show you something that’s extremely complex, you will instantly like it regardless of the actual quality.

Show me something extremely complex. I'm ready. I don't like complex things, I like things that work and have basic features that make actual sense, like thread previews and an easy to read and understand layout. The people here like things that work, easy to use and understand while not being piles of dog shit that are buggy and have limited features without adding a bunch of extensions to get basic forum functionality. Other forum software suites that I've used have more features and sucked less than this does out of the tin without having to make a suggestion to get a possibly outdated plugin or take the risk of it not working at all to add a feature that should have been included from the start.

characterslimits How do you damage a cloud-based forum software? What’s really preventing you from going back?

The previous owner (Seth) legitimately deleted the forum and we had to have ProBoards staff go out of their way and actually recover the forum following deletion, but it fucked user accounts and shit, making it unusable.

This is something that Flarum should have come with by default. I found an extension for the forum that allows for thread previews. I'm suggesting this because it is impossible to preview with formatting what you're writing which has led to a few moments where I've accidentally posted things such as a senior admin application I was drafting for later use in the wrong place because only replying to a post shows a preview of what you are writing, and hitting the wrong button can post it.

    The extension is located here.
Here's an image from the extension's page showing what it looks like.

characterslimits I shit on it because it is absolute dogshit. It lacks something as simple as thread previews before a post is submitted which has led me to make quite a number of well-known 'galaxy brain moves' accidentally posting shit in the wrong places by hitting the wrong button because I am trying to preview what I write so it doesn't look like garbage. In addition to that problem, it lacks a number of features such as proper thread-stickying so every sticky in creation is listed when you view new posts and let us not forget it lacks a "falling" feature which proboards had, allowing for spam and drama posts to be able to obstruct non-spam posts. Overall, it is a pain to use and doesn't look good at all. The hate it gets is well-deserved imho.

I Vouch. We have a log for in-game punishments, so why shouldn't one be for logging forums ones too? Simply record the date, username, where the infracton happened and the infraction to keep it simple if managing a "megathread" is too hard.

I participated and my only gripe was the "fake lag" thing. The game was absolutely unplayable until enough bitching caused it to be turned off. There would be no way that we'd tolerate half an hour of being basically unable to move properly or interact with anything of any sort. Other than that, it went pretty well when I was on.

after all the times you've said "no" you finally caved in. This is better overall for server stability and mitigates damage risks when bot breaches. What an amazing day. 🦀

    @'Anes' Suggestion #1
Creat a Real SMP Server instead of that skyblock thing Lettrally only me Was playing then Left

I Vouch, skyblock needs to go and be replaced with something people actually would want to play on, especially since it's incredibly dead and unpopular since day 1. It's also kind of disappointing skyblock isn't even linked in the hub. Gives the impression it's simply a separate entity with 'TF Branding.'

    @'Anes'suggestion #2
upgrade the servers lettraly if i was right you suck up all the servers in one Host
Create multi Hosts & Upgrade the memory

The server performance is generally fine other than the select isolated incidents when a player decides to crash it with 100's of minecarts... The server is also on several machines linked by bungeecord so that is already a thing.

@'Anes' suggestion #2 Update fourms skin that would be cool

As far as I know, flarum is very limited in customisations so this is not possible. The ideal solution would be to replace it with better software which could allow more customisation given how garbage flarum is in general.

@'Anes' suggestion #4 list totalfreedom Players & currently online & banned & Etc

Flarum doesn't support this and it's not really necessary, to begin with.

I play here because friends such as @"videogamesm12"#4 play here and I also take part in assisting him with archival of historical data if needed because this server has a lot of history and it's nice to look back at its development over the years. (e.g. The Galahad Gigadump). Given I also have a knowledge of exploits, I use those skills to help protect the server from attackers who think it's cool and fun to be dicks and crash the server or other players.

I really don't build here because it kind of sucks for that given the problems I'll outline below:

    • Bonemeal doesn't even work which is absolutely ridiculous.
    • AsyncWorldEdit.
    • Frequent crashes.
    • Nowhere really ideal for building without the risk of grief (except for plotworld, which is kind of restrictive for large-scale construction)
    • Lack of good building resources (limited w/e selection, limited brushes, etc.)
