Here's a first-hand look at the reporting experience. I was with @"videogamesm12"#4 on a test server having a feel for the bullshit. I activated the reporting prompts by pressing P on my keyboard. Have a look.

Do note, we did NOT do this on a Realm. This was done on an actual server that I connected to via Hamachi.

This is what you are currently greeted with.

    Clicking 'proceed' takes me here.

I am now here after I click the report button.

I select a thing to report video with.

Then I pick the messages to report. Take note of "Messages surrounding this selection will be included to provide additional context."

Back at the main report menu screen, I can give some context.

Once a description and category are selected, I click 'Send report.'

I get this screen. Since reporting is still not active, my 'dummy' report won't do anything.

If you choose to exit the report, you are shown this screen informing you that your report will be discarded.

    Bullshit.

Check this lovely thing out: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/…cket_form_id=360003469452

Enjoy the multitude of ways you can be banned from Minecraft because Microsoft decided they want to control what you can or cannot do in privately managed 3rd-party servers, including TF! It may or may not be related to the reporting feature but it's just as noteworthy. Some entries such as Child Exploitation or Terrorism make sense, but not some of the highlights I've listed below.

You can be banned for bullshit such as:

    • Harassment or bullying - I can get banned for that because I told a certain server raider to go fuck themselves.
    • Nudity or pornography - I can get banned because I have a player skin that features a 5x2 pixel penis.
    • Drugs or alcohol - Bruh so if I talk about an awesome alcoholic drink I had at a party, I can be banned?
    • Quitting Early - So if my game crashes in a pvp match, now I am getting my mc account banned for "quitting early"? Sweet!
    • Unsporting behavior - Me calling some loser a dickbag because they scaffolded in bedwars and killed me is 'unsporting behaviour' and warrants a ban? Makes sense. /s
    • Player Username - Aight so my alt, GooeyMeatRod is automatically illegal because of its username. Lovely.
    • Cheating - I choose to cheat on a server because it's fun ruining some retard's streak who spends $200 dollars on a rank in a cracked server while not owning a premium account.
    • Profanity - Holy fucking shit. I can be banned for that? Absolutely fucking dogshit.

@'Freenom' "gui.banned.description.unknownreason": "We recently received a report for bad behavior by your account. Our moderators have now reviewed your case and identified that it goes against the Minecraft Community Standards."

Now, Microsoft doesn't actually need a reason to ban you. It could be anything that could warrant a ban! Absolutely peak microsoft moments right there.

This client also seems to break a lot of mods including WNT, Optifine/Optifabric, etc. To confirm that the mod's just a pile of dog shit, I compiled shadow myself using source code that was on GitHub that was inspected to be rat-free and thoroughly swept. Command Prompt was also never launched either. I never trusted it to begin with so I definitely made sure I wasn't endangering myself when testing it.

Simply put, it's a shitty mod made by a group of shitty kids and ratted since the average player really isn't going to do a sweep like what I did to check for malware inside it, they took advantage and put a rat in it. Coffee is another client that is just as shitty and ratted as Shadow and it's what F_x uses as well. You are not 'cool' for running this garbage and it's not worth being ratted by a sad group of kids because you decided to use it either.

Tizz I’m confident they’ll be required by GDPR to provide info on how reports are processed because messages can contain any kind of data.

It'll be a matter of time before the GDPR comes and bites Microsoft in the ass because the reports have to transmit some form of data and they'll be forced to provide info on what they do with it.

One of my friends took a crack at the jar and noticed that it sends some sort of HTTP request somewhere.

Yeah, this is going to be abused, like a lot. Not a good move by Microsoft, especially since it's for Java Edition. It seems microshit is trying to bring Bedrock-style content moderation to Java.

I have questions about this, ranging from

    • Who's going to sift through millions of reports to punish players?
    • What is the punishment for an 'infraction'?
    • It's a 100% given that players will report people they don't like simply because they don't like them.
    • This is incredibly abusable. (see above)
    • Now Microsoft is going to essentially micromanage what goes on in private servers that people might have paid for.
    • Why do this now when servers have been moderating their own chat since multiplayer was introduced?
    • Who actually receives the reports?

    The update announcement

Not my image but here's a look at some criteria you can be reported for:

erin Shadow got leaked by someone recently so they made it public.

This is the same reason why DeviousMod (also private) also became public a while ago.

matscalle That's the rich presence thing that basically says 'you're playing Shadow' instead of 'you're playing Minecraft' on discord.

I have evidence of you griefing which automatically disproves your argument of 'you not doing anything'. The ban video issued was 100% justified. Lying isn't helping your case at all. I have included evidence below to indicate you indeed were griefing which warranted a ban.

    Code
    '1909115825':
      username: LightningWhip
      ip: x.x.x.x
      by: videogamesm12
      type: ban
      reason: Griefing. @videogamesm12

Rolling you back removed the grief.

RedEastWood the Marketing team only markets the Freedom Game mode and has no obligation to market Skyblock.

I'll quote wild1145 for evidence. We are strictly forbidden from marketing other game-modes as it is 'out of scope' of our responsibilities.

I will also clarify, as per the updates to the Executive policy, this executive role is specifically for the marketing of the Freedom Game-Mode, marketing of the other game-modes is out of scope.

enchy have you ever had your HP printer crash while printing? I learned HP printers can BSOD.

I have an HP printer and @"videogamesm12"#4 is aware of my pain. When that thing finally stops working. I will not be getting anything HP ever again.

    Don't buy an HP printer.

matscalle first why the fuck are civilians allowed to have fucking guns without a correct fucking permet and having a fucking backround check done on them

It often depends on the region in regards to background checks for gun purchasing. In my part of the US, you have to get a purchaser's permit through the State Police and a part of the application process includes getting a background check and being fingerprinted to get a card that permits you to buy rifles, shotguns, and ammunition. Purchasing the gun requires a second background check before you can even go home with the gun from the store. You must be 21 to purchase a pistol and each permit is good for one and it expires after like 30 days regardless if you bought a pistol or not.

A big problem is in states like Texas where it isn't as involved as it is in my area to purchase a firearm with some cases not requiring a background check needing to be done "if certain conditions are met."
    (Source: https://giffords.org/lawcenter…heck-procedures-in-texas/)

In general background checks is a requirement in most places as part of the purchasing process along with being at least 18 years old for rifles (federal law prohibits people under 21 from possessing a pistol unless it's in circumstances such as self-defence).

You can read why universal background checks are important here.
