We need to uphold our standards no matter the individual or case. In this case, Kanst's actions warranted a suspension. Not only did Kanst fail to enact his administrative duties properly, he encouraged a public bout of humiliation alongside it. We cannot simply revert our decisions because the community decided they wanted to change it; this isn't a democracy. We look to the community for necessary feedback but outright demands are pretentious and won't be followed up. We are here to provide a service to you, not to be the service itself. If we provide an exception in this case, or any for that matter, it demonstrates not only that we can't think for ourselves, requiring community input, but also that our standards are subjective and that in and of itself is not acceptable. It wasn't just a mistake or an accident, it was purposefully encouraged harassment. I do agree kanst is very professional in nature, and I appreciate his apology and realization of the problem with his actions, but that does nothing to alleviate the weight of the issue. We have standards of procedure and we will always follow them for consistency and fairness.

Very soon the dev server will be utilized to the community for testing purposes.

Edit: let me clarify; this has been in the works for quite some time (since the first 1.17 uplift where I fucked a bunch of shit up). We will be, in the coming weeks, opening the dev server for all users to test a multitude of different things, one of which will be using Plex as a replacement for TFM, but will also include other things such as plugin updates and/or new additions. There will be specific timeframe windows for when the dev server will be open directly to the community, and those times will be announced on discord and forums a few days before they open.

jwmphall you quoted something that was relevant to your vouch yet its only a partial excerpt. Here's the rest of that post:

"but at that point you're picking fly shit out of pepper. Pretty much all of the bending abilities always wind up being used to annoy people to some degree, and it just needs to go. I get people still use it and it's a feature for ops, but we've reached the point where it is a lot less fun for a few people than it is irritating for everyone else."

It's not worth the developer effort nor the administrative headache to try and make something this scattered work. This won't be happening any time soon, most likely ever.

This may actually be possible with an additional worldguard flag that disallows users to run any worldedit command within the region

I'll be honest this is an absolutely incredible waste of time. Not only is it impossible to "vote off" the sole proprietor to the totalfreedom name, but the fact that you rushed to make this suggestion after messaging an executive about "finding a solution" is in very poor taste. You chose to take matters into your own hands for some reason and in that regard lose a lot of face as consequence. There are much better ways to go about things and while I don't always agree with how Ryan does things around here I'm not going to sit and watch another one of these unpalatable shitpot escapades unravel because quite frankly it was never funny in the first place; inevitably, this is just another vain attempt at throwing shade at Ryan for some arbitrary reason when that energy can be better expended elsewhere.

Previously you had only provided web based development sources. Since then your skillset in Java development has clearly been displayed with significance; in this regard I will happily accept you to the team. Welcome aboard.

This is funny to me because John and I are quite good friends; I've been acutely aware of the things he's done, but they're not of any interest or concern relating to this community in the slightest. Yes, he can be childish and immature, and sometimes he goes and rambles off on a tangent. However, the fact that you took time and effort to make this "exposure" post when there will be no actual response or retaliation says a lot more about you than what you've said about John. Just something to think about.

I'm going to deny this application.

The details posted here are very obviously indicative that the individual does not possess the technical skill we are looking for in terms of development.

If you so wish, you are free to open Pull Requests on the https://github.com/AtlasMediaGroup organization and contribute code that way; if at some point you make a decent amount of quality contributions and you'd like your app to be reconsidered, you may reapply.
