    so it's been about 12 days since the suggestion started and as i was talking to ashaz i thought that i would do a mini-event which isn't official this weekend and get some admins and known people to try and join with hopefully more than 5 people and later down in the next year we can make this into a big event as long as the server isn't already dead
    i'll be dming people (or dm me on discord if interested) if they're interested on joining on sat or sunday depending on people's ability to join on a personally hosted server

    at it's current state, i don't believe the plugin is that unbalanced (in fact it is in the survivor's favour) and even if it was to a short extent, the event hosts could do something about it directly

    if they can't trust me to provide a plugin to an event server (which i have done plenty a time before) they can do whatever they want to deobfuscate it
    i literally built a new pc less than an hour ago so i have no files to do with this plugin except the completed jar (hopefully it is the latest) i sent to lyicx a while back

    i'm bringing this back up (sorry lyicx for bugging you again lol) because i would love for my plugin to be used in one big event that i can rejoin TF for as this plugin took me a bit to make. looking back at it, it was a shame how things turned out
    now, miniSMP is dead and has been dead for a whiles now (and for good reasons) however the nature of this plugin really wasn't minismp - i just named it so to fit in with the others at the time - but moreover just a zombie survival plugin where any format would work with it (e.g. a town map)
    i'm proposing this be introduced on a planned event where hopefully (i've only done balance testing on like 2 people and i don't have the source code anymore) it will be fun and good


    i forgot most of the features but heres some off the top of my head

    • heartbeat system so that humans can track zombies (can also be heard by anyone nearby)
    • "smelling" system so that zombies can track humans which can be masked by zombie blood
    • biting system that regens
    • crafting system

  • Win11/Win10 fresh install

    ↩  videogamesm12 yeah i don't care about WSL anymore, originally installed windows 11 to try it out for size and see what it was like
    what are the benefits of w10 (ltsc in particular, i understand it removes the classic microsoft bloatware) compared to w11 that would mean i would not upgrade in the foreseeable future and what about the questions i asked at the bottom of the thread?

  • Win11/Win10 fresh install

    so after hopping around operating systems over the course of a couple years on my PC currently, i have ended up on W11 after doing a fresh install from W10 so i could try out the WSL (which I never used lol)


    i'm building a new pc and i'm trying to choose my operating system because i want to pick one or the other so i have a nice clean install


    now i love the windows 11 aesthetic and i don't have much of an issue with some of it's missing features (excluding the file explorer shit) but i've already made a usb install for windows 10 and im contemplating whether i should go back to windows 10 which has less bugs than windows 11 or stick with windows 11 which may perhaps include a performance benefit (without the memory leaks)


    furthermore if i was to install windows 10 would you install the ltsc? is it supported with updates often? can i reuse my windows 10 home key?
    and no i will not be installing windows 7

    in all seriousness, these things have a very limited lifespan
    the smp items plugin was designed to extend people having a goal on the server by having good items behind a grind wall like hypixel skyblock or something similar
    since we didn't actually fully test the plugin some oversights were had but that server was so hyped that like 50 people joined which eventually fizzled out because a smp is a smp
    smps last for a week or two max and the ones who are actually willing to play it for longer and for lots of time are people dedicating their life to minecraft which is quite rare
    resets are often controversial for those who have a lot of playtime on the server, even if it would introduce new people as it's a fresh restart
    i really liked the idea of a world map because you could introduce world politics, while that did happen it was often limited due to rules (war, could you grief? etc).


    just a straight vanilla has been done 50 times before and honestly is nothing new at this point, while it would be a good addition it's just gonna be people who already play tf joining that server and making the main server have even fewer people than it already has


    edit: changed to object, refer to one of my previous posts on a different thread (?) about allowing regions to create smps in the main freedom server itself
