  • Implement or amend policies that forbid the obstruction of justice

    I agree to all the points in the thread (as long as point 2 also goes the other way: if an adminstrator preemptively closes a thread because they don't want to / can't supply ample evidence.) But as far as this being an actual policy implementation I am torn.


    I see this as redundant due to change in direction as to how the server is being managed by the ownership wild1145 or executives. If Wild chooses to ban a user, because he deems them harmful to the server property or reputation, then that's his choice to make - as he has made evidently clear in previous posts.
    This also brings in to question @StevenNL2000's position as permban manager (if I recall correctly) - what's the use in having such a position, if ownership can override him. I do understand that the most recent instance of this was a discord ban appeal, but I also think that the Permban Manager should be responsible for judgement here as well.


    Personally, I would rather retain the jury system, wherein the verdict is simply based upon a for / against-system.

    @videogamesm12#7712 We don't ban people based on their actions outside of the server sphere. Are you going to go through all my comments on my personal social media as well? I don't understand why the reasoning, "I believe Mosley should remain banned for violating 1b of the Discord rules due to his behavior on other non-TotalFreedom platforms." should be taken seriously.


    The policy (https://forum.totalfreedom.me/…t-outside-of-totalfreedom) only applies to Admins, and since this is a ban appeal, then this comment should not be considered relevant to the matter at hand. Our average player doesn't attend EsoTalk, and those that do are simply required to follow the conduct policy whilst on any Total Freedom platform.
    It is silly to try and somehow misconstrue this policy into meaning that any inappropriate behaviour outside of Total freedom, if found, will result in a permanent ban from the server. Yes, this should apply to Admins, since they're representatives of the server. And even taking this into account: the worst that can happen is literally listed in the policy above:

    I think it's fine for you to link to these cases as further corroborative evidence and context against Irix, however you didn't link to a single quote from Irix that displayed any foul behaviour, other than him simply being a moderator on the forum. You are not to decide how they moderate their forum, nor should that be relevant at all in this conversation - perhaps they subscribe to some form of priniciple regarding free speech (i.e. lack of moderation). If Irix had said some atrocious shit, then sure, that would indeed grant some context to the (lack of) evidence (at present time) )against Irix, and would enable the jury to give a concise verdict on the appeal. But since you have yet to link to a single instance of this, nor has any evidence against Irix even been posted in this thread, then this is nothing but redundant intel.


    I don't think this comment should be considered a valid vote because it doesn't rely on any existing policy violations, and I also think you should retract your comments.
    I don't subscribe to the views that may/may not be conversed on EsoTalk, but it is wrong to reprimand a user based on a non-existant policy.
