    So how would having more seniors fix any problems? I can say with confidence that the number of seniors had no correlation with problems being solved over the first eight years of this server.

    We can simplify the process. What about skipping the whole development branch and opening pull request directly to main? Releases can then be created monthly (if there are changes) or when a critical update is to be deployed.

    How would this simplify development? You're just moving the point of failure from dev branch to main branch..

    Management is being treated as necessarily byzantine when it's really the bottleneck, minecraft servers are not that deep. During Seth's ownership, development was semi-smooth, suggestions were almost completely democratic, management was almost completely transparent, and interest in the server was booming by the end. You could call it a lot of things, but not stagnation.


    So how do you fix the server as is? Seems like you're on the right track. But to fix the soul? Couldn't tell you. For me, the soul died when it became incorporated, it's just an uninteresting husk that represents everything Wild ever wanted to do to the server.

    For not doing what it's asked to do and resigning when there are complaints they're not following the plan? We're stuck on 1.17, have to stop developing TFM and get rid of all-OP model because of them. Kudos to the remaining 2 (iirc) but we're basically stuck on all levels despite a clear plan of action and priorities.

    This wouldn't be a problem if this server contracted a single professional instead of various unpaid volunteer amateurs over 10 years.
    The problems you've mentioned "have to get rid of all op model" and "stop developing tfm" are actually all good ideas, it's a good thing to remove antiquated bottlenecks on development.

    Server is pretty shit. I have given over a thousand suggestions over the years, where imo it largely boils down to how the server is boring and borderline abusive to play on as a op, and incentives being an admin and nothing else. But nothing will ever change, because lazy executives and teen and child admins in this server prefer to spend hours every day languishing in a stagnating server where they get to power trip.


    The executive (owner and execs) has always been the problem on this server, and it's still the problem with a corporate power structure. I find it shocking that the server is stagnating, when the benefit of a corporation should be an actual budget outside of the bare minimum server maintenance. Perhaps pay your fucking devs?

    From my memory the server thrived off of having a consistent playerbase of griefers, actual players exploring the map and building, and admins keeping a balance. This was a good way of gaining lots of new players, but not a good way of keeping a consistent playerbase, or probably how a building server should fundamentally function. I think if the server wants to have actual growth, there needs to be more longevity to the map. But to compensate, you will need more advertising, and ingame hooks.
