We had some moron from bootleg 4chan come over and raid us with a sense of humor that belongs on a nursery YouTube channel (you know, the ones where the people sing with broken English). HD heads have been on the rise for a while. Last month we celebrated a federal holiday (StevenNL2000) and it was nice.
In other words, somewhat eventful and somewhat boring.
To jog everyone's memory, Cendrag was suspended in early 2020 (nearly a year ago) for some remarks they made on the server in regards to LGBT+. I recall suspending Cendrag for those remarks. Sometime later they were indefinitely banned for reasons I cannot remember.
It has been almost an entire year since he was suspended and indefinitely banned. I believe in the ability to change, and I believe in the ability to forgive past mistakes. Some may not agree with me in this regard, and that's fine. To me, I believe Cendrag should be given another chance to re-enter the community.

Every time I load this forum, I expect the top posts to be some form of intelligent conversation. Examples include a suggestion to change something in-game, casual server politics, or even a heated debate between a former developer and a former executive in regards to real life politics. Threads like these were common back in the day, and really helped keep the server productive.
It appears that as time has gone by, people have taken the name of the "Spam and Drama" board a bit too seriously, and have created unfunny threads containing emoji spam, first world problems, incorrect conspiracy theories, jokes that are on par with modern Nickelodeon sitcoms, and more as a result. While there are many true gems in that board (take the Nathaniel megathread for example), the inbalance of quantity over quality is thoroughly apparent.
Frankly, I've gotten sick of these low-quality threads. Today I'm here to remind you that this forum is not your personal toilet. If you want to be a clown and make bad jokes, do it in #spam on the Discord server. Otherwise, shut the fuck up and do something productive instead.

A panel should be used to control the server instead of a Discord bot because unlike the bot, it would not depend on another platform to work. This means that we can still restart the server even if Discord goes offline.
A few months ago, a suggestion was made to replace the hackish method of running the server we are using (which is utilizing VMs and a Discord bot) with a proper panel. Unfortunately the suggestion was declined but Ryan did mention that he would revisit it in the future.
As downtimes have continued to be a problem and considering the security concerns of using a Discord bot to control the entire Minecraft server, I believe the time is right for us to finally revisit this suggestion. This suggestion calls for the implementation of a panel so that we don't have to rely on a notoriously unstable Discord bot to run the server.
