While I agree that more leniency and less restrictions are good ideas, there are cases where indefinite bans and regular bans are necessary.

This would require us to maintain a fork of WorldGuard to make a change like this, and given the lack of resources already on hand in terms of developers, this would be a pain in the cock to maintain.

I would like to chip in as someone who was somewhat involved in the beginnings of the guild union (I was partially responsible for the logo design). It saddens me to see a unique and cool idea like this devolve into a shitshow. With that being said, I feel like there is still hope for it. Instead of completely removing it as an "associated community", I feel we should instead get someone who isn't very involved in guild conflicts to take over the management of the Discord itself. This allows the leader of the Discord to maintain a neutral state, all the while giving the leaders of each guild the ability to and manage their own guild sections on it.
Just some thoughts.

On July 7, 2021, @"Alco_Rs11"#91 (Galahad's younger brother) discovered a massive treasure trove of old TotalFreedom-related screenshots whilst digging through hard drives that came from a bunch of old computers. In terms of how much data was discovered, this is without a doubt the biggest discovery of old server content in this server's history.
View the other parts:
- Part 1 - May to July 2014
- Part 2 - August to October 2014
- Part 3 - November 2014
- Part 4 - December 2014
- Part 5 - January 2015
As things began with a new year, Galahad's number of screenshots from TF sharply declined. Part of this is possibly due to an incident where a few admins (myself included) attempted to get 3 admins (SKS, Immurtle, and Buildcarter8) suspended from their rank on here and failed. However, this cannot be confirmed.
You can access the screenshots here: https://github.com/videogamesm…mp/tree/main/2015/January
As per usual, here are some highlights from this set that I found interesting:

Welcome back!

Any particular reason for needing something cloud-based when you could just invest in an external hard drive?

Good read, as per usual.
On a side note: Is it just me or was everything in the 1950's so terribly unsafe? What were they thinking?

Twitch has suffered a large-scale data breach. About 125 GB worth of data (including payout data, source code, commit history, internal development stuff, and user data) has been leaked to the public. In addition to the main site, anything owned by Twitch has also been compromised, including Curse and IGDB.
Now is the perfect time to remind you all that nothing is unhackable. With that being said you should take steps to protect yourself and your data - https://forum.totalfreedom.me/…-and-restoral-15-jan-2021

The idea of you bypassing your ban isn't too far-fetched, especially considering you literally did it using the TotalFreedom Head Tool bot a few days after you were originally banned.

With the rise of ironic humor in this community, so has the lack of boundaries on what is considered funny and what is considered too far. The product of these two combined have created a toxic environment for many. This isn't a new problem. In fact, it's far from it. We've been dealing with this problem since 2019 and probably beyond. It's only gotten worse over the years.
Incidents caused by this very issue have occurred before. Look at the incident which nearly killed this server. Look at the January 2020 incident. There are plenty more examples of the ironic humor going too far, and we will continue to create more examples if nothing changes. We must do something to break this vicious cycle of people overstepping their boundaries with this shit if we want to have any chance of surviving as both a community and as a server.
I completely agree with this thread.

By default, the daylight cycle across every world is disabled. There isn't really a point for this, since it doesn't cause any lag. The daylight cycle should be enabled so that things like daylight sensors actually work properly.
This can be implemented very quickly and with very little development effort required, as it only requires a few lines of code to be removed.

Completely removing the core plugin of the server would do more harm than good. Replacing it, however, with a plugin like Plex could provide numerous benefits in terms of stability. However, to reduce the strain on the already-limited supply of developers I think it would be best if we fixed the problems TFM has instead of completely overhauling the entire plugin.
QuoteGood idea. I've proven in the past that this is possible, and it would provide a lot of benefits over the current operator-based system. However, I'm not entirely sure how well the community would handle a change like this.
QuoteElaborate.
QuoteWhich ones?
QuoteAbsolutely not.
QuoteThe problem isn't marketing. The problem is retention.
QuoteThat wasn't a rebrand. That was a merge of two servers that were only separate due to technical limitations with how the Nether worked in Multiplayer at the time. When said limitation was resolved, the servers were merged. We have always been known as Total Freedom, even during those days. Changing the name to something else would strip us of the legacy we have been maintaining for literally a decade.

Good riddance.

I've got plenty of good ones. I'll make a much bigger list later on but for now here's a list of some of the more recent ones.

The original SMP server from 2019 has to be the most fun I've had playing on an SMP server. While the circumstances surrounding it kinda suck, I did enjoy working on the base I had with Kai. We put a lot of time and effort into it, and it becomes apparent as you look at it more and more.

The unofficial anarchy event of February 2021 was a blast. Ivan gave everyone access to dev-freedom-01 as a sort of unofficial anarchy event. You were allowed to do pretty much anything, including crashing both dev-freedom-01 and other people's clients. You can imagine the shenanigans Panther and I pulled off at that event. At one point I managed to actually brick it by marking around 2 billion chunks for deletion using WorldEdit.

During the first round of Bedwars on the event server, instead of following traditional Bedwars strategies, I took the "fuck it" approach and headed straight to the other team's base with literally nothing but my bare hands. When I got there I was met with a heavy amount of resistance coming from multiple players. Despite the odds being completely stacked against me, I was able to use the damage boosts to reach the bed before anyone else and break it. This all happened in less than a minute of the round starting. Even though we lost anyways, the reactions I got were glorious and made it all worthwhile.

I don't believe this will require much for developer effort.
QuoteUnless I am mistaken, /createkit and /kit are available for ops to use.
QuotePR has already been created for this (/coins pay <player> <amount>), but unfortunately I have been unable to come up with a command description that isn't too lengthy and doesn't sound too confusing.
QuoteProof of concept implementation here:
https://github.com/AtlasMediaG…talFreedomMod/tree/FS-283QuoteAgreed. The current one certainly has its shortcomings.
QuoteThis should be integrated into Itemizer instead of adding a whole new command.
QuoteThis would probably be a pain in the dick to manage as the current vanish system is already hard to work with.
