  • Temp Flatlands Highlights

    Community-involved builds which allow anybody to contribute are a lot better than something that feels like a job. Whenever people asked me for permission to add something, I always said "go for it", because I know it allows them to express their creativity their way.


    I especially love how the lighthouse turned out in the underground spawn, it fits in perfectly.

  • Movie Recommendations

    • The Incredibles is Pixar's greatest film of all time. A genuine masterpiece in my opinion.

    • WALL-E is a truly magical film that doesn't have much dialogue, but makes up for it in so many ways. It is my favorite movie, and has been for years.

    • UP is truly a rollercoaster of emotions, it tugs at your heart strings like nothing else. If it weren't for WALL-E, this would have been my favorite movie period.

    • Monty Python and the Holy Grail came out in the 70s and yet its humor has aged like a fine wine.

    Admins especially must remember they are representatives of TF and should not engage in conduct that would suggest that we don't really welcome people of a particular race, religion, etc.


    That doesn't mean we'll be holding hands and embracing each other; there is & will be friction between those of opposing beliefs but disagreement must be civil & respectful. Use of slurs and showing contempt will not convince anybody that you're right - quite the opposite in fact. If you can't express yourself intelligently and with respect, you're potentially violating our guidelines as well as admin rules of respect. Whether it's the server or the deep discussion forum, If we learn to intelligently and respectfully disagree with each other, perhaps you'll find common ground but if the discussion devolves into name calling, slurs, personal attacks, and hate, take a time out and if you're an admin, put a stop to it.

    Helium's case is a cautionary tale about why it's important to maintain a clear judgement, even when handling political disputes or engaging with people of differing political views. I believe these incidents are a product of his political views clouding his judgement as an administrator. Why or how that happened is up for debate.

  • Transcript of a HackForums thread made about TF, circa 2013

    On October 23, 2013, a disgruntled player created a thread on HackForums encouraging people to join and attack TotalFreedom. Despite the negative image this thread painted the server, I've decided to post a transcript of it because HackForums does not allow you to view old threads without an account.


    It's worth mentioning that if you thought things were restrictive today, apparently back then things were way worse.

    Not really worth griefing, most of the players don't rage at all cause they know you can be rolled back and the admins sometimes fake rage for the griefers sake but no one ever actually gets super mad.

    OP knows what's going on. Posting this server was actually one of my first threads. There's not much to grief do to constant resetting but it's still fun to troll people.

    Yeah but it doesn't stop someone from spamming the channel with a detailed description of why they love a certain rockstar's fecal matter.

    Unbanned. There is nothing in the conduct policy that disallows satire or anything of the sorts. From this point onwards, I am going to be more strict on admins who act trigger happy.
