    When we were on ProBoards, we had a special group specifically for marking players as banned publicly. The reason we had to drop it was because of some bullshit related to roles and also Flarum's banning extension (seriously, why isn't a basic feature like that part of the core software???????) being fucking garbage.

  • Temporary admin removals

    So I've been radio silent about the status of this document for quite a bit, and while this isn't intentional, I still take full responsibility for the long delays and radio silence about the case. So, I've decided to break the radio silence. I've been quietly watching this thread, but until now I didn't have the guts to explain the situation out of fear of getting blasted.


    To put it bluntly, I've been procrastinating with working on the document as I have shifted most of my priorities from the server to my real life situation with my school work and physical health. While I have been working on the document on and off for a while, progress has been slow because of, you guessed it, procrastination.

  • Ginlang - Hub Mod Suspension

    I normally don't reply to threads like this expressing my concerns, but this is one I would like to speak up about. I've read the thread detailing the reason, and as the one who suspended ginlang from the Admin ranks many months ago, I have to say I'm both confused and concerned about this lack of transparency in the handling of the case.


    If you recall correctly, back in April I created a thread where I detailed the exact reason of why ginlang was suspended, how I investigated the case, and even included evidence of the leaks proving it was him. It was textbook-level transparency. Contrast it to this case, where he was suspended and indefinitely banned under an extremely vague reason in the public's eye with essentially no warning. This frightens me.


    In my personal opinion, players should know the exact reason they are sanctioned for, and quite frankly a suspension and indefinite ban with vague reasoning sets a bad precedent. It would be much wiser to be transparent with this, else you risk losing the trust this community puts in its management.


    On a side note: Why is it that whenever I sleep during the day, some absolutely crazy shit like this always happens?

    Actually, it turns out my initial suspicions about this guy were correct.


    Turns out this guy is a member of the Granite Castle - dude mentioned a lad named "Saul Boodman" and it just so happens that a player who currently has that name joined the server under the name GrandmasBalls, an account which was purely created by one of the folks in this group to a-log Ryan.

    He also just so happened to join the server with a very similar IP range to that used by the GrandmasBalls account. Since it's a VPN, I don't have a problem with publicizing part of it.

    I wasn't referring to that at all? The way you spoke on the server (inconsistent capitalization between messages, most of your messages having proper capitalization) perfectly matched SaulDoodman's. I know it's not definitive proof in itself, but it's one of the many coincidences that seems to have somehow happened.

    Read the timestamps. It's pretty suspicious to me that after a player named SaulDoodman tried to join the server and got rejected with a message notifying them that they were indefinitely banned, 11 minutes later a new player named SaulZoodman show up on the server for the first time and make the same jokes.

    I banned you because your username is ridiculously similar to that of a player who was just indefinitely banned last night. The fact these two users joined so closely to each other, have usernames that have the same gimmick in them, and quite literally said pretty much the same things upon joining can't be a coincidence in my eyes.

  • Ren - Admin Application

    It's been a long time, but now I'm ready to make my verdict.


    It's true that when this application was initially filed, Ren wasn't very well known in the community and Lyicx's relationship had an influence one way or another as a result. But, it's been a month and enough has changed since then for me to be able to process the application comfortably.


    Ultimately, given recent events I've decided to approve this application. Because Lyicx is currently in a personal relationship with Ren, he will be tasked with helping whoever trains her, which is probably going to be Erin, myself, or another Senior Admin.


    With that being said, I must stress to both the applicant and Lyicx that they should ensure that they prioritize their admin duties over the lovey dovey shit when they are on the server.
