Object, it would be extremely hypocritical of us to offer the service of self-requests, and then actively control when a user is allowed to come back from a service that was designed to offer players a break on their own accord.
We are in no position to tell players how to live their lives and we are definitely in no position to put a number on how long we think a player taking time off should last.

↩ @'Ryan' and being on Discord is not currently a mandatory requirement for admin (And I’d argue even less secure)
There are currently no admins who don’t have discord.

I am still yet to understand why we actually need to show the IP at all, even to just admins.
QuoteWhy is an IP evidence of what a player has done..?
Quote↩ StevenNL2000 We could just stop banning IP addresses in indefinite ban requests, but that might reduce security.
Is this only included for your discretion? If so why can’t the poster just DM you the IP?

Took the fall on this one and clicked the link, it’s a rickroll

Here’s a list of problems that would be solved if we implement this -
- Easy setup for new ranks and permissions
- Removal of unnecessary TFM bloat commands
- Time-sensitive ranks and permissions (possibly could be used for voting)
- Permissions that simply don't exist unless used with a permissions manager plugin (i.e. the debugstick permission)
- By-world permissions (would be great for things like the adminworld and mbw so people couldn't be constantly finding ways to grief them)
- Worldedit issue where you need to relog to gain perms would be resolved
- No need for devs to work around handling permissions that are incompatible with TFM
- Easier to set up permissions based on seniority (i.e. seniors are able to see admins' commands without seeing their own)
- Faster response time on suggestions (because more people can manage a permissions plugin than code in TFM)

↩ @'Ryan' No sane OP will want to come onto this forum and have to immediately read 23 (yes i counted them) pinned posts.
Some of that stuff doesn’t even need to be pinned because it’s outdated or nobody really cares.
If you’re suggesting what I think you are, which is you expect every OP to read all of those posts just to have a clear forum view (which is offered on every other server without any work), then I think we should merge all of them into a big “read-me thread” that contains the key points of all of those threads.
We can then unpin the main threads while providing links to them in the read-me thread.

@"Anzu"#78 Perhaps some of these messages could be merged together, in no way to I want to call you out for anything or discredit what you've said - just don't want you to get forum banned!

A fair analysis and is something I agree with, but I have earned my senior admin position and it is mine to claim unless I was suspended, which I was not. I find it absurd that you object to me becoming an admin simply because we have too many of them, as if I haven't dedicated almost the past year to TF and bettering it. I am honestly quite shocked.
QuoteAgain, a fair analysis as I did post this reinstatement around the time of the shutdown. However you missed a crucial point in your efforts to object, I made this reinstatement after Wild announced he would not be shutting TF down.
A simple check of the date and time I made this reinstatement will corroborate that fact. Ryan made his post announcing that he would not shut down TF eight whole hours before I made this post. As such, I also find this reason to object on my application strange and uninformed at best.
I am trying my very best to respond to objections fairly and to take merit where I can, but this objection honestly leaves me with a lot of doubts with admins abilities to make informed decisions. I am not aware of any historical circumstance where one can/has objected to a reinstatement (for resignation) simply because we have "too many admins", especially given what I have done for this server in the past.
