    @anthony#265 Normally I'm against doing absolutely everything yourself because its often applied to the most nonsensical things. Personally, the whole point of a forum is to make it your own and tailor it to what the community needs. Flarum excels at that. All ProBoards forums look pretty much the same but the variety you can get for a Flarum forum is definitely possible and has been done.

  • Restricted Access to Server

    ^^ I was told that I wasn't allowed to have any access to the server at all (not stop or start, or server file access) because of the policy. According to the policy Wild is apparently the only one who can have access and he isn't allowed to make any changes whatsoever without going through fionn (???). The server is already restored to the point when Seth deleted everything, therefore I am not allowed to make any changes.


    Right now the server is running in screen rather than through a panel. This means everyone who wants to have access to start/stop the server pretty much has to have file access as well. We had a few people who had server access, but it was a disaster. The database kept getting messed with and so did the config files. One of the things I agreed with Seth on is keeping the people with FTP at a very low count. Once any old senior has access to it, they love to dick around with it or "oh only change one little thing". I haven't been randomly removed from admin and TFM hasn't broken randomly ever since six people had access to the files.


    We already have Flarum setup, there's no point in not installing Pterodactyl (which I know how to do, and would be happy to do). Besides TFM is already integrated with Pterodactyl so seniors can make their account in game. The Discord bot also relied on Pterodactyl for getting the status, and starting/stopping the server.

    Changes aren't allowed to me made at all whatsoever unless signed off by the "appropriate authorities". I've been told by Wild this is why I can't have file access (and do my job), and why no one can be added to restart the server. It wouldn't take long to get Pterodactyl running which would solve this, but this is temporary (I guess, despite that we have Flarum running here now...)


    I disagree with this entirely in the ownership policy, but that's what I've been told that we have to follow.

    it does but it's not preinstalled and you're not forced to use it. you're not the one setting up the forum so idk why you're complaining. id love to see you build forum software and prove the morons at flarum that you can do better

    @wild1145#190 this and also what is the archivist gets suspended? now they have all user data that can potentially be used against the server and we have no way of knowing whether the data is deleted. Not to mention that they'd have to be pretty high up since they'd be able to essentially see absolutely everything

    holy shit this has actually gotta be the dumbest thing ever. this is the equivalent of liberals in real life. my fucking god are you idiots. if you want something unblocked, why not actually just send me a dm. and stop being so vague "unblock worldedit", "use this flag to unblock stuff in libsdisguises". i have no idea what any of that means unless you actually are specific. you genuinely have got to be kidding me. no surprise this is from ashaz either. if you want stuff unblocked tell me specifically what is blocked and what CLEARLY the solution is (or if there is none yet, tell me to look into it). on god if i get a bunch of dms from a fucking op council im blocking all of you. for real this has genuinely got to be the dumbest thing. it's not 'annoying' that stuff is blocked. what's annoying is how you can't communicate one god damn clear thing to me and yet you form this, for what? being absent for voting is definitely an issue though and this forum is mostly just an admin staff room at this point. that definitely should be addressed, no doubt, but unless you can prove that an OP council being an official part of TF will help solve the lack of ops voting on the forums, then i object. i think that problem could be solved w/o an official OP council.


    furthermore i as of now don't have access to any server files (this is a rule on the ownership policy and should be changed) and can't fix anything, and all of the suggestions are gone for what needed to be done. also, i am also the only active dev who is also extremely busy.
