What experience have you got in Infrastructure / Systems administration in general
I have lots of experience with enterprise management with Mac, Windows, and Linux. I've deployed Macs with MDM solutions to connect to a file share with user access and also have preconfigured policies. This includes settings like turning on the firewall by default, having it domain joined, and having a fancy login message saying it's company property if lost report to blah blah blah. It also allows me to install programs remotely and install software updates without having to actually get the computer itself. For Windows, it's your typical boring business environment with Active Directory (user accounts, file shares, and shudders configuring printers). Also the headache inducing task of managing updates (which hasn't been so bad recently surprisingly). As for Linux I have the unfortunate experience of getting the computers joined to Active Directory as well. Aside from that all my servers run Linux so I'm very familiar with the command line, how to secure a Linux server, and the best practices. As for my current setup one server is a dedicated VPN server and my other two servers are locked behind the VPN server (i.e. you can't login without being on the VPN). I setup endlessh to mess with the Chinese botnets though.
What experience have you got in Minecraft server administration
I've been running Minecraft servers since 2013 and have lots of experience with Minecraft development and also server administration. You could probably find one of my old server on PlanetMinecraft if you were that determiend but I've ran lots of servers in the past (rip PacksNetwork 😔). I actually had a pretty successful creative server a while ago but it never really caught on because it wasn't 24/7 (I just hosted it off of my personal computer at the time). The factions on PacksNetwork was also pretty successful until I ended up shutting the whole server down.
Why do you want the role.
I don't. -
Thanks for your service to TF and good luck with university

↩ Shdwo I'm not trying to start a flame war, but I'm not sure where you got that a Discord bot can do more than a panel? A Discord bot can't have FTP / a web file manager, full server backups, database management, granular user permissions, scheduled power actions and port / network management. Not saying we'd use every feature from a panel (Pterodactyl I'm comparing to, even though the features would be helpful for TF), but objectively a panel such as Pterodactyl can achieve more than a Discord bot.

↩ StevenNL2000 ok so I'll just get what I said first then. I obviously can't seem to figure out what is the right combo LOL

↩ StevenNL2000 So this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071FNHVXN?tag=noctua0b-20 and the USB adapter I listed above (https://www.amazon.com/TeamProfitcom-…30265931&sr=8-4) should work then?

Vouch, very competent and has knowledge with configuring / setting up things properly
Also why did my other vouch get deleted and no one told me? Seems like manipulation

Sorry for the big-ish bump but this got put on the backburner.

So (I think) if I buy these and this USB adapter
https://www.amazon.com/TeamProfitcom-…30265931&sr=8-4I should be good
Double checking because it takes forever to get things and I don't want to have to return and rebuy because I bought the wrong thing -
actually sounds fun but a lot of people have school so I'd make sure it's in a good timezone or a weekend

↩ FromTimeToTime Docker doesn't work with OpenVZ. If you go to the Superior Networks website you'll see that the vps's use OpenVZ. That's why I theorized it because I have no idea if wild is using OpenVZ or not for TF or just the Superior Networks servers.
The reason it doesn't affect other companies like OVH VPSs is because they use KVM. The difference is that instead of a shared kernel, each instance can have their own kernel (I think?). Generally speaking KVM is the best way to go and docker supports KVM so that's why you can use it on OVH or Hetzner Cloud

You can always make Spam and Drama posts at StevenNL2000Freedom!
Just kidding. I genuinely think it would be worth making a falling threads plugin for Flarum. Or, maybe posts for S&D could be on an approval basis. Maybe there are some buffoonery threads that would actually be funny. I think outright banning spam and drama is maybe a little extreme. It has gotten out of control, but I think an approval system by a forum mod would be a good trial. This prevents genuine shitposts with posts that are literally just "shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost shitpost"

Woah I never knew this existed thanks

I would recommend the regular iPhone Xs or the iPhone SE 2020. Both are extremely good phones and I've used both and they have lots of life left in them

Skimming through this thread, Windows 8.1 is still getting security updates until 2023. In all honesty, Windows 8.1 was one of the worst performing versions of Windows I've ever used. Windows 7 and now Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC are both extremely fast and bloat free. I'm probably the only person here who actually has it legally. LTSC 2022, which will be based off of Windows 10 21H1, is coming out later this year (as I've heard). I have not heard anything about a Windows 11 LTSC version.
