@ThePyroManActualAccount#1748 You will be able to use your existing account if we move to different forum software. The only exception is ProBoards, where you will need to create an account if you didn't have one before we moved away from it.

Regardless of whether anything will be done with the opinions in this thread, I just want to say that I am still conflicted about whether moving back to ProBoards is a viable option.

I think there are not too many people who think that ProBoards is the best software from a technical point of view; it is purely the history that makes it attractive. I have always been against moving away from it because I predicted that it would cause more pain than it was worth, and that has definitely come true in my opinion. But now that we have already suffered that pain, is ProBoards really still that attractive?

@zeseryu#1750 /setblock is a vanilla command, so we cannot disable any dangerous blocks or apply any anti-exploit measures to it.

Also, if this is just about end gateways, we can add a command that allows you to configure those without /setblock.

@wild1145#1759 If your intent is that the bar for this rule is very high, the current draft does not give me that feeling at all. The way I read the current version, an unappealable permanent ban can be put in place by DMing you on Discord and you replying with "Yes". That is a standard multiple times lower than that of an indefinite ban from the server, which can even be appealed.

I don't understand the necessity of an unappealable permanent ban because there is no precedent for this despite the fact that we have been bound by various terms of service in the past decade, including those of ProBoards, OVH, and Hetzner.

The shared network connection is not the problem. VPSes from OVH have guaranteed bandwidth, which means the advertised speed is always available to you in full.

Are you using the same operating system on OVH as you were on Hetzner?

I don't want to get into the entirety of the arguments in this thread, but there is one detail I would like to ask for clarification about. Currently, the server "hangs" more often than it crashes properly. One of the arguments being presented for Pterodactyl is that it is capable of automatically detecting these hangs, unlike our current bots and scripts. Wild's intent is to find the cause of the hangs and eliminate them, but given that it is impossible to guarantee that the server will never hang again, there is a still a theoretical advantage for Pterodactyl in keeping the uptime as high as possible.

With that long introduction, my question is: will the panelless setup ever be able to detect these hangs, and if not, how large will the negative effect of that be on our uptime?

The forum rank was already set up, the members were just not added to it. I've added Monkey and Tozzit; Lakefield does not appear to have a forum account and Zevante has not verified that the forum account with his name actually belongs to him.

This is the form you must follow if you wish to appeal an Indefinite Ban. If you are not banned from the TotalFreedom Forum, you are required to post your indefinite ban appeal in the ban appeal section of the forum. You can access the Ban Appeals section of the form here. If you are banned from the Total Freedom Forum, send your ban appeal by email to banappeals@totalfreedom.me using the template provided at the bottom of this post.

When appealing your ban, it is recommended to verify that you have met all conditions of your ban such as a minimum duration of the ban before you are eligible to appeal. In those conditions, if you appeal before your minimum time has elapsed, your appeal will automatically be denied. If you do not have a minimum duration of the ban applied, it is recommended to wait at least 30 to 60 days before submitting an appeal unless you feel you have been banned wrongly and have concrete evidence to support this fact.

Note: Make sure you are actually indefinitely banned before filing an indefinite ban appeal. If you try to connect to the server and it states you're indefinitely banned, then file an indefinite ban appeal. Otherwise, file a regular ban appeal in the forum or wait up to a day - non-indefinite bans are cleared daily. Also, admins who find themselves indefinitely banned for no cause (and still have admin perms on the forum), please post your appeals in the admin section of the forum.

Another Note: If you're banned from the Total Freedom Forum and you are bypassing the ban using a VPN or any other means and you appeal on the forums, it will be considered invalid as you bypassed your original ban instead of normally appealing through the email address listed above.

The template to be used when appealing an Indefinite Ban from the TotalFreedom server is located below. If approved for removal from the indefinite ban list, the following conditions will apply:

    1. Except for those who were improperly placed on the indefinite ban list, those who get released from an indefinite ban are subject to being placed back on the indefinite ban list more easily than those who were never on the indefinite ban list.
    2. If your application is approved and you were banned from the forum, you'll regain access to the forum.
    3. If you were an admin, you can apply for reinstatement 30 days after release from the indefinite ban (or earlier if the Admin Officer approves) and you must note the circumstances of your indefinite ban in the reinstatement request.

To file an indefinite ban appeal, create a new post in this board with the following information below and title it Your Username - Indefinite Ban Appeal.

@wild1145#996 Regarding the second point, I think given you have to have access to the senior lounge, those requirements in theory should be covered off by the relevant application / re-instatement policies (Though @fionn / @elmon should be able to confirm hopefully?) - I'm not sure it's worth going through the trouble of updating the ownership policy where those requirements should be picked up elsewhere if that's the rule for reinstating / similar?

Doing that implies that it is desirable for the Owner position to have the same requirements as the Senior position, which is not necessarily the case. We currently do not strictly require Seniors to have a Discord account, and as for the recent reinstatement rule, it would make no sense to wait a month before giving reinstated Seniors access to the Senior Lounge just in case we are electing a new Owner.

@Telesphoreo#1030 Before the deletion, I asked the question what the added value of a sign shop would be if we also have /coins pay. The answer was that sign shops do not require the seller to be online, which I think is a valid point.

@wild1145#1010 But if you are going with that approach, why not just allow the server to get filled and kick a random player that is marked AFK when someone tries to join the full server? The server should be able to operate at 100% capacity anyway, otherwise we have a different problem.

@wild1145#998 I'm not sure what the Auction one ends up giving us? I'm not sure what "Items" you're planning on auctioning off..? Especially as we're on a Freedom server...

I do get the auction idea. You are correct that it technically doesn't add anything, but it fits within the roleplay aspect that has been becoming more popular on the server.
