    1. Your discord tag. (Ex: elmon#6023)

    Ashaz#4366

    2. If known, who banned you? (this can be checked)

    Wild1145

    3. If known, do you know what time you were approximately banned?

I think it was over a month ago

    4. Why do you think you were banned? (this can also be checked)

I was impersonating Seth by changing my nick as a joke.

    5. Explain why you think you should be unbanned, and promise to never do
whatever you did again. If your reason remains unknown, you may skip this
    question.

I think I should be unbanned as I have learnt from my mistakes. I
promise not to do the action stated above again.

I have been behaving well in-game, with only a few very small warnings
in-game from Shrimp. I have helped out in-game and I wish to be part of the
    Discord server again.

This may sound silly, but I like the fact that players have OP because it makes you less inclined to limit freedom. When a player has OP, they can do anything by default. With a normal permission system, however, the player can do nothing by default, and each permission that is given becomes a deliberation. In my opinion, it follows from the freedom spirit that it is better to err on the side of more access, which fits the OP system.

Some background on this: NetworkManager has a lot of tools for managing Minecraft server networks, including various chat management options. When improperly configured, some of these options can cause issues where the chat experience is no longer the same, in part because NetworkManager can override other settings.

I don't think that anyone disagrees with finding the cause of server crashes, but I also don't think that we are currently failing to investigate them. The development team has recently become much more organized in tracking unsolved issues, which hopefully means that these types of issues can be dealt with more effectively.

@Madea#3778 Mark left in 2017 and appointed Windows as the new owner: https://totalfreedom.boards.ne…rs-new-owner-announcement. However, Windows went inactive after less than a year because he had problems with his financial situation. The community elected then admin CreeperSeth to continue the server. Just 2 months ago, Seth got so frustrated that he deleted everything he had access to (server files, forum posts, etc.), which obviously meant we needed another new owner, which turned out to be Wild1145.

We initially moved away from ProBoards for flexibility reasons. When former owner Seth left, he deleted all of its contents. We managed to get almost all of it back, but at the cost of some glitches, such as old user accounts and forum search not working properly. Currently, the ProBoards forum is in an archived state and will most likely remain that way.

A lot of servers use boost pads or jump pads in their hubs to solve this problem, which are pressure plates that either give you a short speed effect or launch you through the air in the direction you are looking.

@Noah#3542 In the final setup, play.totalfreedom.me will connect to the hub, and freedom.play.totalfreedom.me and smp.play.totalfreedom.me will connect to the individual servers directly.

Vouch specifically for adding these to the ownership policy. The original thread also contained a suggestion to add these requirements to regular admin applications, which I am against:

@StevenNL2000#1198 Doing that implies that it is desirable for the Owner position to have the same requirements as the Senior position, which is not necessarily the case. We currently do not strictly require Seniors to have a Discord account, and as for the recent reinstatement rule, it would make no sense to wait a month before giving reinstated Seniors access to the Senior Lounge just in case we are electing a new Owner.

As expected, there are mixed feelings about the situation. However, there seems to be a common idea that the ban should not be indefinite, but also that it has not been long enough yet. For that reason, I am changing it to a 30-day ban starting today, which means it will automatically expire next month, subject to Dragon not breaking any rules in that period.

I don't want to add anything personally at this time, I just want to spread this message from Mark that he has since deleted, from shortly after the event:

By the way, Seth left me a note advising me to not hand over access and I read his farewell message. While I'm disappointed he left the way he did, I do identify with his frustrations. Back when I wanted to leave, I was ready to pull the plug but fortunately Windows was willing to take ownership. I have no interest in getting involved with TF again other than TF domain ownership i have. As long as there's people who are willing and able to continue the legacy of spirt of TF, it's all good. On the other hand, TF was never about freedom to harass others, be toxic and/or hateful. That's not to say those things didn't happen but there were policies in place to try and temper that kind of thing. My very brief time on the new forum & discord left a sour taste in my mouth in regards to that. Perhaps Seth felt some of that.

Also, for reference purposes, here is the original farewell message that was visible in place of the forum, courtesy of Tozzit:

This has been brought up many times over the past few years. The two points that are always mentioned are that we have too many admins doing nothing, and simultaneously there are timezones where we still have too few admins. There is no easy solution to the second point because players from those timezones are apparently simply not applying.

@Panther#3205 But we are already accepting everyone who is qualified. Restricting applicants from certain timezones does not magically create more applicants from other timezones.

You should remove all Minecraft assets that you did not modify from the repository, those are copyrighted and the game will automatically fall back to the vanilla ones anyway. Replay by Iyaz (11.ogg) and its lyrics (end.txt), Crab Rave by Noisestorm (13.ogg), Dior by Pop Smoke (cat.ogg), Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley (strad.ogg), All Star by Smash Mouth (wait.ogg), and Deja Vu by Dave Rodgers (ward.ogg) are of course all copyrighted as well.
