@wild1145#18284 Is it specifically the fact that Freedom-01 is a single VM that is breaking the backup solution? Putting the worlds on different servers obviously doesn't decrease the total amount of disk space used.

@Fleek#18102 I would agree if massive edits happened all at once, but AsyncWorldEdit spreads the placement of blocks over time, so the custom gravity checks would also be spread over time. There is also an API method to very efficiently check blocks in a column.

I would like to introduce another option (that Ryan would probably also be fine with). We can make it so that blocks with gravity do not fall down, but instead instantly teleport to the bottom. This circumvents the lag issue while still allowing you to use gravity for building.

Vouch as a low-priority feature. Since hotbars exist, I would be more reluctant if this feature had any potential downsides, but it's just an extension of something we already have and that some people clearly see a use case for. I'm not sure about selling it for coins: the other shop items all have unique features, while this is something you can also obtain in another way.

@Luke#18041 Apologies, I overlooked that. I still do not think that it is reasonable to count this as anything more than a single misplaced thread, though.

@wild1145#17836 We might actually want to look into getting the vanilla syntax of /gamemode to work again so that we can use F3+N. That vanilla keyboard shortcut allows you to quickly switch gamemodes, but it is unfortunately hardcoded to use /gamemode and not our custom commands. The same applies to F3+F4.

@Ivan#17848 In 1.16.5, /locate does not cause noticeable lag in my testing.

@Miwojedk#17663 I never said it was easy to remember an assortment of letters. I said that it was silly to somehow distinguish that from a trivia question that may be asked x amount of times. Regardless, I don't think you knowing the answer from the same question being asked before should be that big of a concern. You either know the answer to the question, or you don't.

I distinguish a trivia question from an assortment of letters for the exact reason that one is easier to remember than the other. My point is that the other categories are almost guaranteed to present a challenge even if you've seen them before, whereas that is not the case with trivia questions, as you state yourself.

@Miwojedk#17659 I wouldn't think that i'd be that hard to find a database for a trivia quiz and implement that?
At least that's somewhat engaging compared to "divide 240 with 5"

I also don't think it would be hard, it just requires us to be okay with depending on an external database.

@Miwojedk#17659 I also find this critique fairly odd, in that you fail to mention that "write apsidh129373t8udhisajkd within 10 seconds" is somehow different and so unique that we can have them pop up every 5 min.

I don't consider how different they look a good metric. Because of the way the human brain works, you are much more likely to remember that the capital of Germany is Berlin than to remember what the answer to 5827 + 1956 was last time you solved it. For copying random codes into the chat, having seen a similar code before is not helpful at all.

I can see why you want this, but my estimate is that it would not be very easy to implement. The problem is that with the way ranks currently work, retaining your rank and having the same permissions as OPs cannot be true at the same time.

Neither of these are strictly speaking bugs, they're just features that other developers have implemented differently than we would like. #1 happens because we currently don't have any influence over vanilla commands. #2 happens because console-command-on-entry is executed directly by the server rather than by the player.

On a technical note, we might be able to catch both of these cases with ServerCommandEvent.

@Miwojedk#17597 We can't generate those automatically unless we pull them from some website. There is a minigame every 5 minutes, so 50 questions wouldn't even last us a single day if we don't want the same ones popping up over and over again.

@Ivan#17601 Plus you'll have fucking bots to solve it automatically

This is the "Let's remove WorldEdit because it can be used to grief" argument. We have a rule against cheating with coins.
