I think it's important that we have Discord emojis that people actually like. I don't see the purpose of adding random ones for the sake of it (that also goes for the parrots): if nobody cares about them, nobody will use them.

I can't find anything to suggest that they are disabled, and cannot think of any obvious reason why they should be, since these are not books that can contain text.

The debate seems to be about whether votes should be based on discussion or on direct observation. (It is also an excellent example of Godwin's law.)
If discussion is the most important, then it makes sense that inactive players also get to participate. This discussion is the replacement for education in the Hitler analogy above. The disadvantage is that bandwagoning can occur, and there are examples of this happening.
If direct observation is the most important, then obviously inactive players cannot really contribute. However, I think Miwo makes a fair point that if votes should be based exclusively on your own observations, then there is no reason to allow any kind of discussion at all.

When you encounter a file that you don't know the type of, you should try running it through the Linux file command. Here is what it would have told you in this case:

↩ Telesphoreo Edit: So the problem is using HotSpot vs OpenJ9. The server literally doesn't start on OpenJ9. At first it said it was BukkitTelnet. I removed it and then it started up. Now it's magically stopping on JDA.
Trying to use OpenJ9 causes problems even in Java 8. OpenJ9 "fixes" inconsistencies in the JVM and breaks a lot of Minecraft code in the process.

It is clear to me that we really need a feature that can be toggled per person here, because the community is pretty split on whether it should be visible or not.
QuoteI've not found a built-in feature that does this on WoltLab, but we will be able to write our own plugins on that platform, so that should not be a problem.

We have FS-90 to enable all blocks that were originally disabled because they have gravity. As mentioned, FS-286 is the more fancy solution that allows us to keep them enabled while still allowing blocks to fall down.

This suggestion was denied pretty recently:

I have never been able to control my dreams, but I used to be able to wake up from them at any moment. I would use it when it seemed like I was about to have a nightmare: the only thing I had to do was declare that it was a dream, and then focus to get out of it. The "screen" would turn black, and a short time later I could open my eyes.

↩ Telesphoreo I found a better deal on Hetzner for their cloud servers.
Hetzner is generally a better deal, except for two specific use cases: very high bandwidth usage and adult content.
Quote↩ Telesphoreo And I would've made it Java 11 instead since Paper put a big warning saying Mojang will switch to Java 11 a while ago.
The move to Java 11 was actually Paper's own (reasonable) initiative. Mojang gave no prior warning, they just suddenly released a snapshot that only supports Java 16.
Quote↩ Telesphoreo Also side note, yes I am using the Aikar flags. I'll try removing them. Perhaps there's some behavior changes in Java 16 that the flags don't account for
Java 16 is a completely different beast than Java 8. Aikar does keep his flags updated, so we will most likely see new ones shortly.

ProsecutorDeath (old names: BruhCookieFace, HeatedBlade, Blade_Swipe8000) has been unbanned in accordance with the following paragraph in the Indefinite Ban Request Policy:
QuoteSelf requests allow any player to request an indefinite ban for themselves. Unlike category 1 requests, self requests and appeals are submitted privately, although a thread will be created in this section after the request has been approved to notify others. The appeal can be submitted at any moment and does not have a template.
The original ban request can be found here:

Apparently it's not easy, Ryan says he can't / doesn't want to make it shorter:
https://forum.totalfreedom.me/…messaging-system-is-bad/7 -
If we're not going to disable it, I vote to remove the prefix that says what server the player is on. Yes, that makes it harder to find people, but the long text before the actual message is very impractical.

↩ Folfy_Blue An overhaul of the system which would turn all indefinite bans into multi-month ones was planned at some point, but it completely fell through because it happened right before Seth quit.
-
If you want this to take place, please let me know exactly what criteria you think should be used, if any. I am impartial about purging the list, but arbitrarily deciding which offenses are worth an unban and which ones are not doesn't seem like a great idea to me.
-
I agree with Ryan that this situation is being complicated by the limitations of Flarum, namely that you can only have 2 layers of tags. On ProBoards, we had a board called Master Builder Applications below Server Builds and Maps, which was obviously much clearer. Whatever we do now, we probably want to revisit it when we switch to WoltLab.

I've found the issue here. The automatic entity wiper is at fault: minecarts are blacklisted from the wiper, but chest minecarts are not, so the server is destroying all loaded ones every 30 seconds.
