Does anyone have more information on the "attacker" part of the ban message? This user is currently indefinitely banned from the Minecraft server, but that doesn't automatically qualify them for a Discord ban.

I'm sure you've been told this many times, but the depth of your lore is quite impressive. I would even say that these have more value as roleplay devices than as actual builds.

It's somewhat ironic that this is supposed to improve readability, because putting the entire template including formatting in a code block makes it significantly harder to read. There is a tradeoff between the readability of the template itself and the readability of the threads created with it.

I am curious about the following: If you know the rules and you are not intentionally getting yourself banned, how would you in your own words explain the fact that you were banned so many times?

There is unfortunately little support for you to be unbanned. Because of the excessive posts in this thread and the fact that the appeal was posted almost immediately after the ban, I am setting the minimum time before the next appeal to 120 days. This is not to punish you, but rather to give you the opportunity to calm down and reconsider the situation.

    1. What is your MC IGN
    StevenNL2000.

    2. What TimeZone are you in
Normally UTC+1, currently UTC+2 due to summer time.

    3. What experience have you got in Infrastructure / Systems administration in general
I have several years of experience working with Linux systems, both for production and for mock / testing environments. Most of my experience is with Debian-based systems, but I'm very familiar with the Linux terminal and can get around on all distros. I have no formal experience deploying infrastructure, but I have worked with both very low-end (embedded) and very high-end (enterprise) hardware.

    4. What experience have you got in Minecraft server administration
I've administrated a variety of servers since 2012, which has taught me a lot about the quirks of Bukkit, its forks, and its plugins. I currently have and have in the past had access to the server files of TotalFreedom, where I've made various tweaks to the configuration over time, with permission of course.

    5. Why do you want the role.
OPs and staff members often come to me for highly technical questions about Minecraft servers, programming, or computers in general. As recently as yesterday, I helped Red with some plugins and configuration files on the Skyblock server. I think this position would make it easier for me to help others and troubleshoot problems where they occur.

You've taken a rather unusual approach to criticism. How do you plan to de-escalate situations with people who are not willing to consider a lecture on rational thought? I'm mainly concerned about disagreements with other staff members, not so much rulebreakers.

Telesphoreo No, that combination doesn't work. That cable is a special one with a built-in converter that turns the 5V from the USB into 12V, so you need to combine it with a 12V fan. If you get a normal cable that doesn't convert anything, you need a 5V fan.

I have to agree that if the Server Conduct Policy is supposed to apply to the events server, this has not been sufficiently clear: the MiniSMP events are much more anarchistic than the freedom server, and the Server Conduct Policy also contains things that are not applicable to events at all (e.g. 3k). On top of that, Lyicx had posted his own mini conduct policy in the event announcement thread that doesn't include a variation of 1e. Therefore, I suggest we leave this case for what it is and make it more clear which set of rules applies to these events for the future.

That decision is of course only for the indefinite ban: it is up to Lyicx if NotPetya can be admitted to future events. It also doesn't rule out indefinite ban requests for other misconduct.

I think it's worth looking beyond these two options as well: there are quite a few of these plugins, and we obviously don't have a lot of experience with them as a freedom server. It's also known that tweaking the config files can have a huge impact on the detection rate.
