enchy It's always been frowned upon, however it's basically impossible to prevent people to advertise in game, so the 1-hour cooldown was added. Or at least it's how Ryan explained it in staff channels before the Purge.

Almost forgot: community guidelines don't allow advertisement on any platform, game server included. Or do they?

@'Anzu' My behaviour in the TF discord has improved tremendously and I am actually proud of the changes I’ve made myself.

    I agree on this.

However, you've come back recently and you're still a bit on and off for reasons beyond your control. So, I think it's a bit early not to believe most of the vouches will be for popularity or just because we don't have other choices in your time zone.

If this stays open for enough time I'll probably vouch, in the meantime I'm neutral with a slight lean to objection.

Akefu-Brewer You write a post. You need to check if it's properly paged instead of blindly trust Flarum and hit "Post discussion". Flarum's stupid and only shows a preview of replies behind the message box. This extension shows a message preview before posting a new thread.

gamingto12 what would it be replaced with?

I have no fantasy so I can't come up with something other than tfnetwork.me or tf.me

gamingto12 what would happen to the different Bungee servers

Nothing. Iirc game servers, forum, website are behind a proxy. Changing the domain name basically means telling DNS providers to point the new name to that proxy's IP. You don't even need to delete the old name. We've had tf.io as an alias but looks like it's expired.

If the network eventually becomes the "TF network", as you originally planned, the domain name "totalfreedom.me" won't make sense anymore and, if replaced, will become unused.

That could give the freedom server owner a chance to redeem it in cases he wants to move away from your network for some reason (unlikely as long as you're still around)

Provided that the freedom server owner is theorically allowed to do it.

    1. We need devs that we currently don't have
    2. Adding plugins wasn't in the plan as we had already started migration process to WotLab but was eventually stopped.
Also we need to reinstall Flarum's frontend starting from a stable version as using a beta one at first introduced bugs we still have for some reason.

If players grief, admins have the tools to undo (almost) all damage.

We sometimes allow OPs to have safe areas using WorldGuard for special reasons (e.g. Imperium), but it requires experienced staff to make it work as intended and not accidentally restrict other people's freedom, or give griefers ways to bypass them.

However, we'll need to revisit some ideas around freedom or how important we consider people's works in the freeop server, as Ryan's opening the plot server in the near future to replace the current plotworld.

When a forum user is suspended or sanctioned in other ways, a note is usually placed by a mod in the thread the offence has been comitted. This can make it hard for forum staff to keep track of punishments, and others can't easily tell if they're trying to interact with a banned user as only mods and admins can see the "suspended" badge next to the name.

I suggest having a dedicated section to post forum sanctions. It could be a primary tag put at top level or under one for forum stuff. Only forum staff should be able to post in there, while for the others it's read only.

I've imagined two ways for adding punishments in it:

    • a thread for each punishment
    • a single megathread where punishments would be noted by adding a post
