@Ashaz#15975 yeah but they can and people still do, fuck it i do when i make an ass of people making dick builds at spawn.
i think a problem with this could be coreprotect wont log who did the explosions in the case an admin toggles them and someone misuses it, it would be difficult to trace
@Fangs#15915
i mean i and my future assistant will mostly do the job at overseeing the planning of events by the event hosts. the idea is that they plan the event from documentation as a reference and just fill in the prerequisites and pick a time (or fill in a timeslot that i and future assistant allocate) and be there. seems like im putting a bit of a load on them n that but i feel below would be a bit more suitable
QuoteEvent Hosts assist the Executive Community Manager in hosting engaging events on the TotalFreedom platforms, including but not limited to the freedom servers, SMP, GMod, and Discord server. They also are in charge of the planning of these events, and support the ECM in coming up with new event ideas.
i also dont think the primary role of coming up with new event ideas should strictly fall on the event hosts and allow community contribution following the template i have put up to be approved by myself
@SuperRyn#15969 should outline this in the policy but ill say it here, unofficial events hosted by anyone will not be affected by this policy. my idea of an official event will be the extensive planning, announcing, promotion by myself, my future potential assistant and the event host team and rewarding of real coins and actual shop items.
not out of the blue things hosted by other individuals rewarding kits and items. those wont be banned in any way and in fact i would actively encourage them as it gives a good indication of potential real event hosts and improves engagement within the server
if anyone asks where im at on the wednesday 28th April (tommorrow) @ 11:45AM - 1:00PM BST.
im going for a "walk"
im going to do an example draft too for the legacy build battles we used to do in plotworld back in darths day, i'll put this one in the pool (where ever that'll be, i hope to have a subsection on the forums for it)
QuoteDisplay MoreName of event:
Build Battle
Prerequisites: ( = Required)
An area in the plotworld.
A Theme and time limit.*
A spawn ideally created for presentation purposes.
Ideally a designated judges or two, preferabily MB's
Server best fit:
(i.e Freedom 1, Freedom 2, Discord, SMP, GMOD, Etc)
Freedom 1 or 2
Ideal minimum players to start:
Minimum of 4
How it will work:
Before the start of an event, contesters must claim a plot in the designated area set by the event hoster.
On the event starting time, the contesters will have a designated amount of time at the discretion of the event hoster. each contestant must produce a build with the theme of the event hosters choosing
At the end of the event time, the event host may bring in a few non participating people (Ideally MB's) to help judge the verdict on who the top three based on level of detail and creativity combined. those will be rewarded along with those that have participated enough to warrent a participation award. (Traditional event hosts will need to forward these to the current ECM so awards can be given)
Rules:
(The list of things not to do and ideally what would happen when such things are broken)
Base Prizes:
1ST Place: 500
2ND Place: 250
3RD Place: 100
Participation: 50
Prizes can scale with the number of contestants by Prize*1.(Additional players to 4)
i get that last line is extremely complicated and there is likely a simpler way to put it but what i mean by that is if we get more then the minimum amount of players, we up the stakes (i.e we get 6 players, thats 2 more then the minimum so we go times the participation reward by like 1.2 which will end up being 60.) i gotta flesh this out more im aware.
finally
going to put this in the same thread as its vaguely relevent enough but i would like to see most peoples input on the template for the event documentation's i've mentioned in the policy for people to propose to me event host or not, event ideas so if i like them (or if i ever decide to put it up to community verdict, i dont think with what i wrote would be an official case but again input would be useful i wouldn't mind either way) i can put them in the "pool" event hosts can reference to when they're setting up an event
QuoteDisplay MoreName of event:
(Self explanatory.)
Prerequisites:
(Things required to be done during planning, i.e Arenas, Regions, theming/branding, applications, etc)
Server best fit:
(i.e Freedom 1, Freedom 2, Discord, SMP, GMOD, Etc)
Ideal minimum players to start:
(Self explanatory, minimum required players)
How it will work:
(Explanation of mechanics that'll be used, how an event would go along, basically what would ideally happen)
Rules:
(The list of things not to do and ideally what would happen when such things are broken)
Prizes:
(Things to be given at the end and how they will be distributed. i.e 50 for participation and 200-500 for the victor)
I appreciate the positive feedback on the actual policy so far, was expecting more critical feedback which im still welcome to whilst this thread is somewhere and i haven't put it in officially. when i do though which im hoping will be tomorrow ill open up applications
RedEastWood has already made an application for this here but im likely to amend some changes to fit more with what im going for here. i.e asking if the applicant has GMOD to show that they can and are able to host GMOD events. will work on that later on (which i've actually already spoken to him about lol)
Vouch
@Darth#15884 my policy is longer then yours 😝
so yesterday i actually fucking wrote something as an executive and i am quite proud of myself please pat me on the back and give me some input into this before im like "yo, this is real shit now". this is the most formal work i've ever done in my entire life, i did it all by myself too
QuoteDisplay More! if you want a more english version of what i've said, please just look at what i've written below and give some input. im looking for that before i go on with making this an actual thing and reopening applications for event host. also kinda thinking of renaming it to "Event Manager" as it has a better ring but i dont know. would appreciate thoughts
Event Host Policy
The event host rank is given to those that host events on our network whether that’d be the main freedom server, the SMP, the discord or any other platform relating to TF.
These events are hosted under the determined schedule by the ECM and if else their own wills. Gaining this rank will grant access to perms on the discord and rights to host official events that have been documented on the ways of how they will work, what is required and who is needed and ability to forward documentation to the A/ECM for approval. Non event hosts can also forward their documentation of events to the A/ECM for approval to be in the pool of events to host.
Events that are not documented for one off or rare occasions like holiday related or unique community projects or concepts will only be hosted by the ECM and if succeeded can be written as documentation for later use
Event host’s have no rank requirement to apply, but must have a 15-day old forum account to be eligible. There is a finite number of placements per time zone. 5 each from the UK/Europe, American or Australian Time Zone areas respectively. The ECM can also appoint/remove people despite application at their discretion
Event hosts are also held against several rules of which violation of these will result in removal. They may reapply within a month of the infraction. Note that there will not be a reinstatement process for this and resigning will mean you will need community approval or the ECM’s to return
The conduct event hosts must follow are listed below:
(1): Disturbing or cheating at any hosted events in any way
(2): Not turning up to an announced event the host was meant to turn up to. an exception to this will be if the A/ECM has been informed of this and arrangements are able to be made for another event host or A/ECM in the worst case to stand in
(3): Hosting an undocumented event officially without informing the A/ECM.
(4): Showing a level of incompetence with their hosting of events repeatedly. This will be determined by the ECM if they are proven to be mishandling official events. Can also be reported to the ECM if others believe this is the case
(5): Getting permbanned will result in a revoking of event host
(6): As an event host, you must host at least one event a month. In an event this is not possible, you must inform the A/ECM as soon as possible.
(7): When an event host is hosting an event, the entire event is under their own jurisdiction and are responsible for the entire event, no other event host has any right to overthrow the hosting event host
