    Just for transparency reasons, RedEastWood had the role pre ECM and we've decided decided to keep him around as he's willing to continue his work as event host


    for clarification, the final sentence of the fifth paragraph of the event host policy states

    suspend every other admin then for also doing this, literally i can name a few admins and ops off the top of my head who also do such, and im not up in arms about it neither is anyone because it gets cleaned up at the end of the day.

  • The Case for Block Gravity

    right so i honestly see this from two perspectives


    On one hand: while in recent history it may not have been used to crash the server, it really can do if someone sets a bunch of falling blocks like gravel. a bunch of falling entity's isn't healty server side, and especially client side so i do understand why its blocked given the people i've spoken to and my own personal assumption


    On the other: i feel this switch off would have more of the vanilla taken out of the server, that doesn't sound like a big deal written like that as hardly any of the vanilla components like item drops from blocks and people are off, entities dont spawn and all that lot. i dont think its healthy for us to keep straying away from restricting certain aspects of the server. sure its for stability sake which is understandable as theres probably no simple fix for it instead of having like a small group of blocks fall at one time in like a queue but i aint got a fucking clue if its even possible. but my point here is, is that people do use falling blocks for legitimate reasons, a strong one for example is terraforming with worldedit. an easy compromise here would probably sort a form of plugin to facilitate that action but that'll come with its own problems. another could be just the common folk trying to build something that requires this mechanic but then finds out it doesn't work. they'll leave and fuck off elsewhere because in their minds the freedom aspect they come for is a bit bullshit. would not be the only reason to lead to that conclusion tho at the moment

  • Admin Application - shehxlk

    Vouch and rec confirmed. i believe that they have enough sense and maturity for this task. furthermore has been an assist when it comes to reporting indef ban offenses (see here) and not seen any trouble from this individual

  • Assistant Community Manager Appointment - Shyrix

    so, for the past few weeks, I've been dwelling on names on a potential assistant to assist with certain tasks. I've been crossing names off a big ass list metaphorically in my head and I've come to a conclusion


    I've decided to appoint Shyrix to AECM.


    She will be assisting with the management of event hosts and ensuring things are going smoothly, having more insight into more areas into TF's community of which I hardly understand (fucking item creation, how the fuck do people do it to such an extreme.) in efforts to help when it comes to agreeing on priorities later on when it comes to it and improving engagement in that area and in general around the server and assisting in any future endeavors we may take on going forward and proofreading anything I write including this announcement.
