Plugin updated. Any ignored tags should now vanish from the all discussions page like magic.

Given none of the fixes in the minor versions we are behind seem too important I'm not going to worry yet, but will plan to schedule something in in the future.

So I'm wrong, Flarum are shit and hide the minor bug fix release notes in with the main release notes (ARGGGGHHH). So we are 0.02 versions behind.

Hopefully I can get the plugin updated anyway but will let you all know.

So the core is up to date (From what I can tell, Flarum is shite and doesn't make it super easy to quickly tell) so it's probably just that plugin. I'll look to update that tonight as it should be simple...

Please see previous suggestions for this. If you want to go to Freedom-01 and avoid Freedom-02, use the hubs.

The freedom. as with any of the "Shortcuts" will take you to the server group for that type of server, and will randomly connect you based on server status (Ie up / down). That's not going to be changed, as it is not technically possible to do so without getting rid of Freedom-02 entirely, something we're not yet ready to do.

Given @"Ashaz"#12 has seemingly rage quit the discord server and as such he has been removed from his position as admin.

He may reinstate using the standard process no earlier than 14 days from now.

Telesphoreo I would guess that you probably can't, certainly not something that would be used on national weather type setups. As far as I'm aware at least here in the UK that's all privately owned and managed and there's 2 organisations that basically provide all the weather data for every broadcaster in the UK.

I'd also imagine that this wouldn't actually help you predict the weather where you are, it might help people around you, but you're not interested in the weather where you are, you're interested in the weather around you and things like wind direction for example to predict weather?

@'_97' It probably will, and the guidance for the EAO and other admins will be updated.

6 Hours is the absolute baseline minimum, it's there as a "If you can't even do this, you're wasting everyone's time". In reality I suspect it will end up being closer to 12 or so hours per month, which on average works out at 3 or so hours per week which I'd like to think on average people can give that much time to the server.

To provide a quick update as of this morning.

@"StevenNL2000"#2 has proposed an excellent way forward on how we can handle this without the need to try to involve Proboards (Which has been what I've been trying to work out). I'm hopeful that with the work Steven is currently doing we will be able to re-open the forums and make available in a read-only format any content which was historically available to OP's within the coming weeks.

Once that is complete we will look to work with some folks to go through all of the various staff boards and where possible move those threads to then also be publicly accessible, this will likely take a considerable amount of time but we should start to see things appearing in the coming months.

I apologies that this has taken so long, it's something that I've wanted to get right and I've struggled to see exactly the best way of doing it, the current plan might end up going to shit, but it's the best sounding plan yet, and given the community push to get access to some of this it feels like the best way to start to open content back up to the community.

    Some things to note

    • Posting will be disabled, forum admins will be able to post and reply, but otherwise all of the boards and threads will be in read-only mode or locked depending on the permissions flexibility in Proboards.
    • Registration on the forums will remain disabled, I think a snapshot of the user list as it was at the time of it being archived feels like the right thing to do.
    • The shout box will also remain disabled for the time being as people can post in there, and given it was regularly cleared there's little we can save there anyway.

Upon further review of the "individuals" who have vouched on here, reflecting on the evidence and comments here, I am no longer convinced that the appeal was made and voted on in good faith, and believe the op has likely attempted to tamper and manipulate the results. The reply Red made earlier in this thread highlights significant evidence to support this along with a forensic review of server access logs and the members database.

With that in mind I am extending Steven's original 30 day cool off prior to appeal to 5 months. You may not appeal this indef ban prior to January 1st 2022.

On the grounds this thread seems to be progressing in the same direction as the other one, I'm going to lock this thread. Updates will be posted on the other thread as appropriate when there are updates.

RedEastWood Then recruit people to help you. There is a solution which you’re so clearly ignoring - get help and use it. Steven already offered to help. I have no issue in helping. If I help then I can get Shdwo to help. That’s already 3 people. 3 more people than yesterday.

If you'd bothered to read my response on this the last 100 times I covered this, it's not possible. Until we get to the bottom of the fact the entire proboards permission structure is broken, in it's absolute entirety, I can't even entertain other people doing anything, because I can't actually reliably give them permissions.

RedEastWood If letting you do what needs to be done takes another year, then perhaps you shouldn’t be the one doing it.

Then I guess we're going to have to delete all the user accounts then. As I said, those are your options.

So right now, because you seem to be unable to let me get the forums into a good state, the community has 2 options.

    1) Wait for me to get it done properly, which will involve begging Proboards support to fix shit and trying to fix permissions
    2) Delete all non-forum admin accounts, and having everyone re-register / not allowed to register at all, which will lose the detail of the posting history and any PM's / similar.

The permissions as I said on the original thread, are fucked. and I've been trying to fix them in slow time, and when I've got 10 mins between the other 200 fucking tasks I've got to do to keep TF running, but the bottom line is when Seth deleted everything, it has made so much of the forums a total mess, which is near impossible to get working how it should be, much less in a state to be properly archived for future access like we all want.

So that's the options, I'm sick of you all thinking this is some super simple job, because if it was I'd have done it six months ago. Get your heads out of your arses and either let me do what needs to be done, or accept the loss of all account data. Your choice.
