This is the exact reason as I much as I love Apple devices and all that good stuff, I am a huge supporter of right to repair, because it's often a common story...
I've had pretty good success with apple authorised resellers here, but peoples milage has varied, and I've only done one of those butterfly keyboard lifetime repair things which they tend to be pretty happy to just insta approve with little questions asked.
↩ @'ThePatronusCharm' Because it's required to keep things running properly and securely. Regular patching needs to be undertaken and unfortunately it requires a re-start of the host that runs the VPS's we use.
Please be advised there will be significant maintenance impacting nearly the entirety of the TotalFreedom Network from 3PM on the 31st July 2021 for up to 1 hour.

↩ Telesphoreo It's a fair point, there will come a point where we will have to do world wipes / similar to sustain things properly. There is some work going on to split the worlds on Freedom-01 out into their own smaller servers (Master builder world, plots and admin world being the main 3 we want to split out) and the hope is that will buy us some time.
Depending on 1.17 and if there are major world changes that might be the point where we reset the main world, or some combination like that, but I'm not sure yet.
While we can continue to throw more disk at the server (And that's what I've done to date) there are implications of doing so, we're having issues now that the backup scripts fail for Freedom-01 because of the way the backups are designed to run for example. There's also a point where I only have so much disk space on the SN Servers entirely, and until TF is in a position to accept donations to contribute towards the costs it'll be hard to justify uplifting SN's infrastructure when TF currently uses something like 60% of our entire regions disk capacity.
I need to do some minor patching to the bungee server which will result in a short outage as the bungee software, VPS and some plugins are updated.
Updates will be published here - https://status.atlas-media.co.…lfreedom-network-updates/
↩ Ivan I'd love to see that as well, but realistically, you're never going to see it on this server... People who are ticking every possible box that you want, are highly unlikely to agree to work on TF out of the goodness of their heart.
As I've said, I do think this was the right thing to do, that's sort of been my point from the start.
As again for how I became owner, I again see no correlation like you seem to, I was voted in because that's what the policy required, the policy for executives and most other things, require no such action.
I'm not saying you have to be a developer or an admin, I'm saying you seem to spend a hell of a lot of time seemingly going out of your way to critique the way I and others try to run this server, and seem to do very little to try to actually improve things other than critique, which sometimes is great, but generally doesn't do much more than waste both of our times, because as I've said already I don't see this as a valid argument, which is why I highlighted how maybe you should stop screaming that you didn't get what you wanted, and do something to contribute in a meaningful way...
↩ Ivan You are absolutely within your rights to call me out, but don't expect me to do anything about you feeling upset that you didn't get to put your 10 cent in to something that has nothing to do with you.
As per the executive policy, the community has no right to vote on any appointments I make to executive, or how I run this server generally. I'll do what I feel is in the best interest of the server, and where I see the need to consult with specific individuals or the community, I will do so.
And for the record, how I was appointed to this position, has no relevance to how I chose to run the server. I made clear from when I put my hat in the ring to run this server that this would be my style, and I've clarified it since.
You don't like the decision I've made, good on you, but it doesn't change anything.
As I said, if you want to actually do something productive, actually do something and get involved, if not, feel free to continue crying here that you didn't get the person you happened to like more to be an executive.
Added July data.
↩ Ivan I am very happy with my choice, he was considered the last time I needed to fill the position, and he's been active (As I've said before) in development channels, and has helped us out on more than a few occasions with new features and investigating bugs. That's not always clear because there is no need.
And it's not an excuse, it's the way this works. I'm running this server how I feel it is best to run it, and if you don't like it, either actually do something to help, or find somewhere else to bitch and moan, because you're contributing diddly squat on here.
Positions like this should be appointed based on who is actually capable of doing the role, not a fucking popularity contest which is why we've historically ended up with woefully under skilled people doing executive roles, and significant corruption in previous years.
TLDR - Either actually DO something to help make the server better, or get off your soap box and take it some place else.
↩ Ivan With all due respect, I haven't got a whole lot of choices and I picked who I believe will be best for the role, not who you and the community think will talk to you the most.
And while Video is more active in game and on the forums, I don't believe in this case he was the better candidate for such a position.
As with this and everything else, if you don't like who I have appointed, you have no obligation to continue to be active here.
↩ Telesphoreo He's active within the development channels internally, and has contributed to the codebase more than any of the other remaining developers. That combined with the application I previously received for consideration is why I've made the appointment. You don't have to be active in game or on the forums to hold this role on the server.
Updated to correct Fleek no longer having access to the dev server at all. Adding Paldiu to the live server and enhance dev server access, adding Nick to the events server.
The TotalFreedom server is currently once again on the look out to recruit some new developers in to our team. Over the past 10 years we've had a range of developers all contributing to where the server has been able to get to today, and if you're interested in getting involved with our development, we would absolutely love to hear from you!
Unlike previous rounds, we'll appoint as many developers as we have suitable candidates, there is a lot of work that has gone into our plugin development, and at the moment as the community is well aware, we have a significant backlog of work for the Freedom game modes, and we're actively working to design some new custom game modes which will require significant developer assistants.
At the moment we are really looking for developers with some knowledge and experience in Java, as the majority of our work is currently needing Java developers. I will also be keen to hear from individuals with a web development background, as we will have the main website re-design and in the longer term when we move to WoltLab we will be looking for folks to help with the custom skinning and themes for the site.
To apply just reply to this thread with the following information.
1 - Your Minecraft Username:
2 - Your Discord Username & ID:
3 - Your previous experience, please do provide links if it's open-source, or if not talk us through it:
4 - A short bit about why you want to become a developer for TF.
And that's it. I'm not going to set a hard and fast deadline because I certainly appreciate everyone is busy but we'll look to start appointing those who are seriously interested and have demonstrated they have the experience and expertise as we go along!
The best of luck everyone.
I'm pleased to announce that @"Paldiu"#89 has been appointed to the role of Executive Lead Developer. Please join me in congratulating him on this new position, and I wish him every success.
↩ RedEastWood At the moment we are still in Phase 1, due to other things happening on TF at the moment I've not had the capacity to work through next steps, currently I'm spending the vast majority of my limited time trying to progress the Java 16 uplift and then the 1.17 update. Once things get a bit more manageable this will get picked up again.
Apparently neither I or @"simplynick"#11 can actually read because the OP does follow the template. Lemme go un-do that rejection.
Rejected for failure to follow the ban appeal format as per @"simplynick"#11 's reply.
Added the process as a side note to the forum guidelines.
We won't be looking to add a plugin or anything like that, feels like overkill for something that doesn't happen that often.
I have raised FS-379 to look into fixing the permissions to allow OP's to change their own message status to fix this properly.
