So the short answer is this won't be happening. The backlog is just that, a backlog of work. It's regularly prioritized and what's most important is given to the Dev team to work on. Outside of that it's there to collate ideas and tasks over time that we can assign and pick up as needed.

It's doing exactly what it's intended to do. Anyone who disagrees should spend some time researching agile methodologies.

We intentionally don't allow this for various reasons and crested an alternative for admin only usage.

Ultimately it's down to the executive chief designer to maintain an active list of master builders. Given they are often tasked with building projects having an inactive team doesn't end up helping the server...

As with the new forums I've decided to suspend the work on the gmod server project.

We will be archiving and shutting this down in the coming days, I'd like to thank all those involved in the project for everything they have contributed to TF in trying to grow out community into additional games.

To make folks aware I've decided to suspend the work to move forums until further notice as part of a review into the current workload, and the future growth plans for the network.

We will be continuing to review all aspects to the server over the coming weeks and will update folks on any other changes that may happen.

We will continue to maintain the flarum forum, however will be limiting enhancements still to only those which are critical.

Apologies for the disappointment, it's just become very clear the community aren't open to change at this time and it's meant this and a number of other planned projects are no longer tenable options.

characterslimits There are various other gamemodes currently in the works. As I said on the original skyblock thread, the current Skyblock was us taking over an existing server to bring it into our network as a new gamemode. We will be looking at how to improve the current gamemode in due course, and will look at options if the demand is there for other alternative gamemodes on the same theme like you'd suggested with your AllOP SkyBlock idea.

jwmphall I'm trying not to de-rail another thread, because I don't then want to be given shit when I or someone else moderates and locks it.

As I've said, your question has been asked and answered in the other thread. I don't want to re-hash that here.

jwmphall That has absolutely nothing to do with my point, or the point of this thread... I'd suggest you read through the main announcement thread because everything you've asked has previously been answered in that thread and I'd like not for this thread to end up the same mess as the other one.

characterslimits TF is not just FreeOP... As videos own other thread highlights we've been about freedom and community historically. That doesn't mean that's the route we're going to stick to strictly and the freedom game mode already exists, the point of skyblock and other game modes is to offer additional options for those who don't want a freedom game mode which is already a fair chunk of our community.

I'll write a better reply when I'm on my desktop and not on mobile.

As I said since day 1, I'm here to try to increase our player base and make the server a viable thing to run, which being brutally honest right now it isn't.

There is a fine line to strike between pleasing the community, and doing what I can to try to bring more players on to the network which we need to have developers interested in sustaining the server, and for me to be able to justify the huge cost tf is to run and maintain...

I again made this all clear from the start, and while the community is important, so is having actual players playing. Otherwise this will end up like any other stubborn community, nothing but an archived forum.

I don't expect people to agree with everything I do, and criticism is one thing, however in the most recent case that went from criticism to actively being disrespectful and in some cases attacking our servers, which is why I've pushed back hard and those involved will be sanctioned.

People come and go from tf, I don't like it when people leave but as I've said from the start, if people don't like the direction I'm pushing down, don't feel obligated to stay for my benefit.

I've gone thorough (half asleep granted) and done an initial moderation sweep from reported posts and the thread hijacking.

A number of users are now suspended from the forums for anywhere between 3 and 60 days depending on how significant their part with and their precious suspensions.

All those involved in the thread hijacking should be ashamed and when I'm not trying to sleep I will finish dealing with that thread.

Ivan Given as far as I'm aware the modifications we make to essentials are controlled by permission nodes, and last I checked we were running some custom modified version of Essentials X, Yes, I'd like to know why we're not using the TFM permissions setup to revoke those perms from everyone and then re-add them to admins...
