To me that's the entire problem. The eao hasn't been empowered to actually form a judgment, which as you say defeated the point of having one. It's why I've tried to push in the direction of requiring people to explain an opinion (see one of the first replies here where it happens now for hub mod apps) but that same approach was never rolled out further.
Ban appeals I think Steven makes a judgment himself rather than it being a firm percentage, but I think it's based off the majority vote rather than reasoning.
So historically people have been strongly against this and wanted this to be super democratic with percentage thresholds and all. I don't agree with that being the right way forward...
For hub apps, sys admin apps and event host apps this policy is enforced (https://forum.totalfreedom.me/…ion-response-instructions) and to be honest I don't even read if they're vouchers or objects, I read the reasoning and allow that to enable me to form my own final judgment. I'm very keen we roll that out further if the community supports it.

Unfortunately this is part of the shit that is flarum, not much I can do. They aren't a single thread and they need generally to be pinned in the board.

The EAO holds ultimate authority on anything and everything related to admins and their applications. If they want to bin your vote because they weigh it as bullshit like in this case, that's their decision to make...

You can vouch or object for any reason you wish. The eao has the final call on weighing those justifications and forming their decision. If they deem a object or vouch a low or poor reason they may discount or weigh it less.
There's been a lot of effort in this thread to argue that a reason isn't valid, to clarify that's not really acceptable... I'd encourage everyone who's replied to this thread to review the admin application comments guidance.
↩ Ivan I've honestly not been brave enough to try a full reinstall out of fear of it breaking more or losing data.
Originally the plan was to burn flarum and move to something better. That's still an option.
I've tried to debug the fault but there's just no error logs when things have failed which have made it even harder than it really should be.
↩ Ivan Flarm hasn't worked properly for us since we installed it... No idea why as I followed the standard setup guide like everyone else. It's possible we just got un-lucky with the version of the beta we originally used and there's some damage left over from that which we've never noticed / been able to fix.

The fact that running 0.1 versions behind bricks silly shit like this is part of the issue. If flarum didn't make it a nightmare to upgrade people would keep more up to date.
