    Hello,

I have been banned from the totalfreedom freeop server,

I used to play a lot on the server and sometimes did stupid things wich i didn't really want to do.

Is it possible for me to get an unban?

    Minecraft name: mel0o

    Discord username: vic69#2975

Date of ban: I don't really know anymore, somewhere in early to late 2020

Reason: I broke many rules and I know I should've not done that I am so sorry for what I caused back then.

I agree to follow your TOS and respect the rules in there.

    Kind regards,

    Vic

It's intentionally not able to be dismissed while the forum has significant work done to it, it'll simply be removed when I'm happier with the overall state of things.

Understandable, but I can't help but find it as pretty intrusive. I'll just configure ublock to remove it for now.

As a general rule of thumb going forward, I'll only be using ones that aren't able to be dismissed where there's something that is time sensitive like this and that will only be there for a short amount of time. Appreciate it's not to everyone's taste but hopefully you can appreciate why it's there.

Please be advised that we are still in the process of maturing the new website & forum, as a result there is a lot of activities that are still a WIP that the team are working through.

I'm well aware at this point.

Is it not possible to change the text color?

It'd require me to see if I can fuck with the theme as colours are theme specific. I'll have a look but I'm also wary that changing theme settings will only work until they release an update that we pull in as Woltlab has a pretty good way to update themes and dependancies.

Also why do your posts say official post?

Forum staff's posts default to "Official Posts". It's a Woltlab default and I've not fucked with it yet, might roll it out to more groups or change it but not sure yet.

As part of the move to Woltlab, we've been able to remove a number of the historic limitations that Flarum had and move to a slightly more "Standard" layout of the forum.

With this all in mind, and with the much easier ability to figure out how populated each of the boards are I've made some minor changes.

    • Forum Sanction Requests have been merged with player conduct reports. Going forward this will be the single plan to make reports for in-game, forums or Discord.
    • For the most part, all of the applications now have sub-boards for approved & Rejected applications and some also have an on-hold status
    • Ban & Admin Suspension Appeals as well as the player conduct reports also now have sub-boards for approved and denied posts
    • Admin Suspensions board has two sub-boards, one for indefinite bans and one for expired bans. Live temporary removals will simply remain in the existing board.
    • Bug reporting now has a closed board for all reviewed bugs.
    • All suggestion boards have approved/denied sub-boards
    • The boards that were historically hidden and archived on Flarum are now shown at the bottom of the forums.

I will be making some tweaks to the admin section, but they will align with these existing changes.

Hi, i believe i found a problem in the external sources? Notice how my profile has a signature with an image? This image was found in the totalfreedom site, so it counts it as an internal source, would something be done about this or is there no way to?

Yeah that's an avatar of some sort, so it's not an issue. The issue was people uploading attachments to their signatures which was supposed to be blocked but was somehow glitched. The thing to be aware of with avatars is it might get deleted if it's not in active use. External images will be fixed soon.

Also, the "threads that match your title" is listing threads that are 100% irrelevant

This might now be fixed, I hadn't done a re-build of the indexes since I did the initial import, now everything is where it should be and a new site rebuild has ran, I'm hoping that might be less rubbish. If not it might just prove to be something Woltlab isn't great at.

And secondly, I personally only use the recently updated threads to actually use the forums. Is there any way we can make a better distinction between unread posts vs read posts? Sure, flarum did it in bold, but it felt like it was a stronger bold. Also, the unread post count lit up with a number of new posts as an indicator as well.

The entire of the recently updated threads is something I've homebrew made and isn't something Woltlab supports, there is an "Unread Posts" option which will show at the top when you have unread posts, likewise you'll see the number on the boards to show how many unread threads there are that have been updated since you last looked. I'll see down the road if there's anything I can do to improve the recently updated threads.

I find the contrast on dark mode to be pretty bad. The color for posts is slightly gray instead of white which simply is harder to read on an already gray-ish background.

This theme during the testing was the one most people preferred which is why I've gone back to it now, if people would like to suggest other ones or make their own, I'm 100% happy for that to be a thing, but would ask they're on dedicated threads one thread per theme suggested.

is there also a way to show recent posts at the very top, as opposed to recent activity. as in make it purely just posts. i don’t particularly care if someone liked a comment, but I would like to see if a new post was made.

I'm not sure what you mean here?

The notification counter will not update/go up in numbers unless you refresh the page that you are currently on. I am suggestion changing this behavior to match Flarums' dynamically updating notification counter. I am also suggesting the same thing with threads: Right now, we need to refresh the page to see new threads, I suggest matching the behavior of Flarum once more, by automatically showing new threads on the feed.

I have found a plugin for the dynamic threads: [link] but not for the notifications.

So it does I believe but it only does it on a periodic frequency, it was one of the new features in this version of Woltlab. They show up for me on Firefox on my laptop without issue and without refreshing. I'll check that is the case but I think this should be native functionality but just not real time.

I can confirm this, however, images are still not working

Images will come later, Once I get all the core content where it needs to be, the next job is getting image embedding from external sources working.

Initially I'm going to avoid allowing attachments if I can help it, but might allow them in some format down the line.

Correction, they're inconsistent for some reason.

Also is it normal that external image hosting is disabled? I wanted to show an error when I hit the "Quote" button...

I think it's Flarum being Flarum and having multiple schemes.

And I can see the same error as you I think now... I've got a copy of the error log and sent it to the vendor to investigate.

I see spoilers have become generic quotes and mentions are broken as heck lol

Yeah spoilers we knew we were going to lose due to the syntax Flarum was using being bad. Mentions shouldn't have broken as we had tested that more than a few times on import, but frankly it's too late now.

    Hi Folks

Welcome to the new forum, it's great to be off of Flarum finally and here on Woltlab, our new CMS and Forum suite.

To say, I'm still working through the setup over here, as it is a little time-consuming and the priority currently is to get all of the threads where they need to be, and all the permissions set up as they need to be to allow us to use the forum as if it was back on Flarum.

Once that is how it needs to be, I'll be working to improve the site as a whole and getting even more use from the new tool.

Could I ask people to continue to check their content looks correct as it imported in as well as make sure you can reply/create threads sensibly, please?

    Thank you.
