@zeseryu#2867 No, and there probably never will be... It's why we disallowed OP's to vote on the ownership process when it was originally written as there is no real way to tell the difference between a player that's only just bothered to register on the forums despite being active in game, and you who want to rig a vote... It's why voting on these things anyway is not a sensible or sustainable pattern imo

To prefix this thread, unfortunately I am somewhat limited to the information that I can publicly reveal on this suspension due to the nature of the suspension itself, and the rules / laws that were broken which have resulted in the suspension. I will say that this is an exception to my general rule when it comes to sanctions, and is for a violation of policy which was conducted under Seth's leadership of the server, and is not something recent, though upon reviewing the evidence combined with more recent actions which I have had to balance, the decision has been made to extend what was an original 2 week suspension into an indefinite suspension, and as such reversing the re-instatement thread made here - https://forum.totalfreedom.me/…einstatement-curtainpoles

This suspension is for the following violations

    • Section 4.d of the Staff Conduct Policy
    • Section 4.b of the staff conduct policy
    • Section 1.I of the Server Conduct Policy
    • Section 1.h of the server conduct policy

There is no set date for when this suspension may be appealed, this will be at the discretion of the EAO.

Allow me to congratulate you, we basically knew you were Nathaniel for some time now, and as part of writing this thread you've kindly given me enough justification to indefinitely ban this account for all sorts of fun reasons as follows.

    Server Conduct Policy:

    • 1.b
    • 1.h
    • 1.i

You also bypassed and managed somehow to be just as much of an ass in your post here.

GLHF, I honestly hope I never see you on my forums again :)

A very short one, Lakefield decided it would be a super smart idea to live stream him impersonating my account on UMC without my consent or permission (While I was in the call no less).

As such and given the policy written an hour ago in terms of admin conduct outside of TotalFreedom, they are hereby indefinitely banned with a minimum appeal period of 12 months.

So I'm going to chime my 2 cent in on the matter because I don't want to stop this conversation from happening, but do want to make sure things are fair and reasonable and so far this thread seems to be a bit lacking in that regard.

Before today we had no formal policy around admin conduct on external platforms, and I am also not going to set the president of imposing rules retroactively, as that will open one of the largest can's of worms there is...

I do however see and agree that on this occasion Lyicx should have used better judgement and understood that this sort of behaviour was likely to come back to bite him. I am also aware that this thread hasn't been raised to "Report" Lyicx in any way so far as I can see, or if it is it's in the wrong place.

With all of this in mind, my current thought on the matter is to strongly suggest lyicx look to make a post somewhere appropriate on the forums to apologise for his behaviour, likewise I would strongly suggest anyone else who has posted similar content on the past on EsoTalk or any other external platform that is clearly attributable back to them (And I've got a list so far...)

While this won't please everyone, I'm keen to try to approach this in as fair a way possible, especially given this was not formally reported... I will however stress that going forward and applying to any new content posted which falls into that which is documented here https://forum.totalfreedom.me/…t-outside-of-totalfreedom will not be tolerated.

ATLAS as an organisation made a commitment earlier this year on the topic of equality and that applies going forward on TF (https://blog.atlas-media.co.uk/2020/06/27/equality/).

To stress, while I do not condone this behaviour, there is a fine line and no decision I make here can be totally fair or please everyone.

The purpose of this post is to highlight my current view and ultimately my expectations when it comes to the conduct of admins or the wider "Staff" Team.

I will prefix this thread with a note, I have no intentions on policing everything that goes on outside of the server, and what you do in your own time is your own business. The purpose of this thread is to highlight when it ceases to be only your business and when I or the other server staff will need to get involved.

As a general rule of thumb, I and the executive's will not get involved in anything you do on another platform unless a report is made against you to suggest you have been acting in a way which would be deemed inappropriate as a representative of this server and community, something you are by taking on a position of responsibility on this server.

I will also clarify, I am not expecting admins to uphold our full conduct policy off-server, however I do expect them to apply common sense, and remember that there are lines which really need not be crossed.

As a general rule of thumb, if you are sexist, racist, homophobic or anything else that would discriminate against someone else, that behaviour is going to end up getting back to the server, and you're going to look like an ass at best and indefinitely suspended at worse...

The judgement of if a report should be actioned and what sanction should be applied will be taken by the servers leadership team which will at a minimum include the owner and the executive admin officer, though will often contain additional individuals who are responsible for the running of the server.

I also appreciate this is a bit fluffy, but I ultimately wanted to remind those who are kindly giving their time to making the server a better place, your actions elsewhere can have serious repercussions to this server and the community as a whole, and if that happens, we will have to take actions to mitigate it.

I will also add, it is your responsibility to remember who you're chatting with and where that content can be read, if you're on public forums, expect people to stumble across it and if you use the same username / nickname as here for two and two to be put together, and likewise if you're in private DM's and such and someone screen grab's it and reports it, action can still be taken. Be mindful of what you say and how you portray yourself, and where you make such statements.

In the interests of not turning this into a flame war, I'm going to temporarily lock the thread. I will form a full reply to address this and other concerns related to this shortly.

@Reperak#2459 Use the beta server more frequently.
I haven't really seen the beta server be used as much for testing, so I'd like to suggest utilizing it to test TFM and other software builds before rolling them out to the main server.

The beta server is very new, and something I've only created recently as part of my wider strategy to reform the development workflows through the server. It is however primarily being used for developers to test things before they go live, and that's likely to remain the case. It's not something we're wanting to actively encourage players to use generally, and for the most part will likely be restricted in terms of it's access. For every player on the beta server, that's one less player on the main Freedom server.

    @Reperak#2459 Proper development cycle.
TotalFreedom seems to have an unorganized and dysfunctional method of pushing updates to the main server. I've provided a simple flowchart to explain how I'd like to see the development cycle work for each of the TotalFreedom Plugins.

It's ultimately impossible to mandate a development schedule when you're working with a team of folks who kindly give up their time to develop for the server. I am however working on a process to start to make these things smoother, unfortunately when you lose your entire development team within days of taking over as owner, it's pretty hard to do... We should start to see a more managed and sane approach to releases throughout the servers going forward.

@Reperak#2459 Weekly build from GitHub -> Perform quality check on beta server (this includes compatibility and general stability checks) -> Main server & GitHub releases page

It's a lot of work for very little gain. Cutting edge can be great, but it tends to require a considerable amount more work and to be honest, I don't think people are going to see the benefits that you think they will...

@Reperak#2459 Move unnecissary features from TFM into an add-on plugin.
Don't even try to argue the fact that TFM is bloated. It clearly no organization of what features should go into it. This chaotic manner of adding features causes bloat, disorganization, poor performance, and most importantly, breakages. It's safe to say that the more code you put into a piece of software the more potential issues you'll have. Things like integration with social media and fun features like the shop should be moved to a separate plugin to maintain a slim and useful main plugin for server owners who want a clean experience with the minimal amount of hastle.

What you regard "Unnecessary" are ultimately features required to enable the Freedom server and the Server in it's current format. As I've said on other threads, TFM is going to be built to serve the needs of TF, and while that does mean there are things in there that other servers don't need, that is frankly not my problem, and not something the developers should be spending time un-picking. If you want to run other things on your server, then by all means customise TFM to meet your own needs...
