In order to roll out some updates that need to be rolled out both on the bungee along with all the servers sitting within that bungee we will be performing some routine maintenance across the network which will result in a temporary outage of ALL TotalFreedom servers.

The maintenance window will be as follows

    Start: 18:00 GMT
    End: 20:00 GMT
    Total Duration: 2 Hours

Updates will be posted here - https://status.atlas-media.co.uk/maintenances/NiYWOAANafhR

Just to let people know, I've temporarily enabled maintenance mode on the old Proboards forums, this is a temporary step while we work in much slower time to open the forums up to everyone and to make sure that all threads can be sensibly archived for future reference.

Registration has also now been disabled, and will not be enabled in the future, I wanted to ensure we could have a snapshot in time of who was registered ideally before we moved, but obviously that's not worked due to the historic issues with the forums.

Just wanted to let people know in case there was concern, nothing's been changed / deleted, I just want to make sure people can find their way here easily, and that we can work on updating the permissions to allow read-only access to everyone as we review the threads that are currently restricted to certain member groups.

    Cheers all.

@zeseryu#4763 So just on this topic, I've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes (Which is why I've not been super active on TF recently) to expedite the work that ATLAS is doing for Superior-Networks to overhaul the underlying infrastructure in order to fix what I believe are some of the current bottlenecks in the server. The Bungee, Hub 2, SMP Server and Freedom-02 servers will be the first ones to be moved on to the new infrastructure so I'm hopeful that once we make the change any existing lag will either be resolved or be a case of geographical location which unfortunately I won't be able to do a great deal about.

I'll make a more proper post closer to the time but just so everyone here know's, I'm aware we've had performance issues recently on a few servers and we're looking to fix it.

So this isn't something I'm super keen on, for a few reasons.

My default position is if you want guaranteed building space, go to the plot world and build there, as that is after all what it's designed for.

I'm also aware we've had a lot of issues with a number of the existing WorldGuard regions that have been defined, because people claimed the area where other's builds also resided in, and I've been pondering if we cease to allow OP builds to be protected by world guard other than where they are the world spawn / similar.

And ultimately there will be a lot of players that may not come on regularly, and wouldn't really enjoy coming back to find their builds have been protected and they can't build with them, this sounds good in theory but for me is a pretty major shift away from the historic "Freedom" aspect of the server we've been promoting and that I'd like us to be trying to move back in the direction of going forward.

I'm open to thoughts, but I think this is one of those where it'll likely cause more harm than good.

    No.

Put simply, the individual is a predator and is not at all the type of person I want in this community, and I think we all know that the timing of this appeal just proves that.

While I can't say this will genuinely be indefinite, I can assure you that for as long as I own this server, you will not be welcome here. You are indefinitely banned from all our platforms, and will continue to be for as long as I have any decision making power over your ban status.

If you want to do something to help yourself, go seek counselling or therapy.

To make it clear, if you bypass or otherwise continue to harass folks on this server, I will do everything within the law and within my power, to identify who you are, and ensure you are swiftly reported as a risk to the health of others to the police wherever you are, which isn't something I want to have to do, but I can assure you I have absolutely no issue doing with someone such as yourself.

This appeal is denied. I'll leave it open for discussion if anyone else has anything to add.

One of the reasons I was very for getting rid of this policy is because it ended up being used as a naughty word filter and a way to "Cancel" people on the server without taking any sort of context into account. Now, before y'all get your pitch forks out, it is included within the rules that the sort of behaviour the policy was intended to remove has already been re-worded into the conduct policy, which ultimately makes a lot more sense anyway, but also means we don't end up getting into a culture where we're afraid to have a sane conversation in case someone says a "Naughty Word" though to be fair, it's rare that those sort of conversations do happen.

Either way, to have a dedicated policy for this sort of behaviour in my view add's additional confusion we shouldn't need. I'm all for having rules specific to the platforms users interact on, but to then add some global overarching policies and some extra local rules and to have different policies and rules for the platforms, causes more confusion and frankly as this thread demonstrates ends up with people not bothering to read the conduct policy they should be following and/or enforcing.

If people feel 3J needs to be re-written / tweaked, I'm open to it if there is something we've missed that the ZTP had covered, but otherwise I don't feel it's something that needs to make a return...

So I'm going to approve this but because there are going to be some differences to the forum reporting procedures. I'll announce more on that shortly because while it will encompass some of these suggestions, it will be some not all.

    FOR-1 raised to track this.

Subject to it being logged properly in CoreProtect this has been approved. FS-74 raised to investigate and make sure that is the case and re-enable the command if it is indeed the case.

I think I agree with elmon 's post earlier, not sure this is a great idea.

Don't really think this is necessary, if people abuse it they can be warned / banned...

    See earlier comment.

Overall I'll mark this as approved subject to what I said above.

So just because I'm confused myself on this one. Is the suggestion to reform the voting system to not be first past the post, or to change who can see votes? As far as I'm aware, unless you tick the button to show votes I don't think you can view the votes until the poll closes, or potentially the original poster can as well.
