@Ashaz#5708 Suggestion 2 - Monthly Plugin Suggestion Thread
The ESL team are here not only to market, but also to enhance op experience. We should have a thread that opens on the 1st of every month, and closes around the 15th of the month. This thread will be a thread where players can suggest plugins. The plugins will be evaluated by the ESL(and his team/a dev) and then if there is enough interest, it'll be added. Any old plugins that aren't used much (or even at all) would also be removed after an evaluation.

That's the entire point of the suggestions board... New plugins take time to get working, and to limit them to certain times of the month feels like a silly way to do things. If people think there would be good plugins that can be added to the server, then they should make a suggestion and make their case for why they think it would make a good addition.

So for other peoples reference, this was the conversation that I replied to you earlier today WRT this topic

TF for the most part has always been word of mouth, and I think while a large YTer / Streamer might bring us some players in the short term, I'm not entirely convinced that paying the hundreds of dollars that would be required to actually get a good sponsored video out of one, is going to bring us what we would actually need to keep growing the server.

I'm very keen to hear what the ESL team think on this topic, as from my perspective we should be in a position to be pulling in more players than we currently are, and while there is still a lot of stuff we've got to do technically to make the player experience better, actually what we're offering should still be generally attractive to a reasonably sized potential player base...

For context on the technical side of things, we've currently for 87 tickets outstanding in Jira, with around 20 of those which we've "Selected for Development" meaning they're what we're doing next, and a lot of those are around fixing bugs and trying to improve the stability, and looking at some of the commands that are currently blocked which potentially no longer need to be.

I'm open to peoples suggestions, but as James has said, getting a content creator to make video's about the server is going to be hard unless they as a creator genuinely enjoy playing on the server, otherwise it's a lot of $$$ for probably very little return on investment.

@Miwojedk#5692 So in our case no, but perhaps a more realistic example for other servers running TFM.

I own RyanFreedom, I have the shop setup and running, but decide for that I no longer think it's a good idea. So I go into TFM's config and disable the shop.

The question is what the behaviour should be.

    The options so far are

1 - (Current Behaviour) You can't buy more items / earn more coins but any items you bought you can use, but any items from the shop that you don't own you can't use
2 - Every item in the shop should be able to be used by any player regardless of purchase history
3 - No item in the shop should be able to be used by any player regardless of purchase history

In my view, 1 feels like the right behaviour, because if I decided to re-enable the shop, it should only have had the impact of "Pausing" the economy on the server rather than failing open / closed.

@Miwojedk#5673 so it's something we actually do on TF. Freedom 2 we disable the shop and coins because there's no way to keep it in sync easily with freedom 1 and we didn't want people to feel out of pocket.

For me this comes down to what you would reasonably expect the behaviour to be in basically this exact scenario where we have two servers and one has a copy of the tfm database but the shop disabled. Do you let everyone use all the previously premium commands or do you still enforce that only those who did buy the item can use them.

@TFTWPhoenix#2401 MBE - MissingBlox Essentials Plugin for Spigot (let me know what GitHub username to give repo access to. It is currently not public)

Sorry this has taken ages to actually get back to you on.

Is there any chance you can add me to the repo so I Can have a nosey. My github username is Wild1145

    Thanks.

@DragonSlayer2189#2386 Thanks for the application, and apologies it's taken so long to actually reply.

I think at the moment I'm looking for individuals that are a bit more experienced and comfortable around java source code to help expedite the development pipeline. I would certainly encourage you to continue your learning, and once you have a bit more experience around the Java programming side of things I hope you'll consider applying again :)

@Ivan#5629 Yeah, I think my point is more that actually this feels like the right behaviour.

If you have bought an item from the shop, you should be able to always use that item (Unless it's removed from the shop obviously) but if the shop is disabled after purchasing it (Like our Freedom-02 server would be) then you can't buy a new item, but use the old ones

It's clear this isn't being listened to, and my mind has already been made up. I'm making changes that I feel are in the best interest of the server. I've made my position very clear, and I've yet to see a good reason to re-consider either of these options beyond that the community want to take additional power which quite honestly isn't a sensible way to run a server...

    Suggestion declined.

Just to let folks know, the entire network supports both 1.16.4 and 1.16.5 at the moment.

We will be looking to uplift all the servers to 1.16.5 shortly which I suspect will end support for 1.16.4, but a further announcement will be posted about that.
