Are there any cases where you don't feel this is being dealt with appropriately as it stands? I would expect this sort of thing to be handled through our normal escalation routes such as via executives or failing them through me...?

So I'll give the TLDR here.
The appeal is declined, I feel I had sorta already made that position at least somewhat clear, I have no obligation to store offensive materials as evidence, and I need no ongoing evidence past the point that I am satisfied that the issue has been resolved, which it was when I banned you for
QuoteViolation of 1d and encouraging further breaking of 1c and 1d
Which if interested are as follows on the conduct policy (When they are 2c and 2d because I made a typo on my phone, which is my bad)
Quotec: The Sending, Linking or otherwise sharing links to NSFW content, this is including but not limited to pictures, video's and websites.
d: Discriminating against, harassing or insulting a person based on their race/sexual preference/gender/age.That sorts out the appeal itself.
To move on to the other part I mentioned earlier and that Video has mentioned around this being classed as a section 1 offence, as a former admin you are still held to the same behaviour standards as any other active admin on the server, which is the way TF has ran for as long as I can remember it, however in this case that in itself isn't even necessary because reviewing the evidence historically and in conversations with the ATLAS Management team, we have already concluded that you were in violation of Sections 1A, and 1B of our conduct policy on Discord since before you were previously unbanned.
1A Violation:
Upon a detailed review of the Discord Terms of Service, and by extension the Discord Community Guidelines which are required to be followed as part of following the discord TOS, we have identified that your historic advertising of the platform which you also chose to run and administrate in your own time in our view is highly likely to violate the following sections of the community guidelines, and as such your ban has been adjusted to mark you as being in violation of rule 1.A of the discord rules.
Quote-
Do not organize, participate in, or encourage harassment of others. Disagreements happen and are normal, but continuous, repetitive, or severe negative comments may cross the line into harassment and are not okay.
-
Do not organize, promote, or coordinate servers around hate speech. It’s unacceptable to attack a person or a community based on attributes such as their race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or disabilities.
-
Do not make threats of violence or threaten to harm others. This includes indirect threats, as well as sharing or threatening to share someone’s private personal information (also known as doxxing).
-
Do not evade user blocks or server bans. Do not send unwanted, repeated friend requests or messages, especially after they’ve made it clear they don’t want to talk to you anymore. Do not try to hide your identity in an attempt to contact someone who has blocked you, or otherwise circumvent the tools we have which enable users to protect themselves
-
In general, you should not promote, encourage or engage in any illegal behavior. This is very likely to get you kicked off Discord, and may get you reported to law enforcement.
1B Violation:
The ATLAS Leadership team reviewed your behaviour and evidence historically since we took over the running of the community, and your behaviour falls about as far from our core values as it possibly could be, to actively promote, encourage and participate in content which is discriminatory towards race and gender, is absolutely unacceptable. The way you have presented yourself in the community and other communities which have been attributed both towards TotalFreedom and advertised on our platforms has already caused significant damage to our community in the past, something which you again had actively encouraged. As such you are now banned under section 1.B of the Discord conduct policy.
Due to the nature of the offences which you have now been re-banned under, any further appeals posted on the forum will be treated as spam and moderated & sanctioned appropriately.

We did take a full archive prior to deletion. As with all the channels we delete.
I haven't worked out how I wanted to share them or anything like that which is why I never posted something myself but we do have the html, json and csv export for each of the channels.

@moriarty#7570 This is terrible practice. John can't even cite the policies you are quoting, and from what he's told me in private, the "official reason" for his ban does not include the actual policy: it only includes the section number.
The policy is specific to the platform and you agree that you have read and fully understood it before you post. It should not be required to be posted elsewhere if you genuinely read and agreed to it prior to posting as you have to here.
-
@fssp#7567 you made a racist comment in the general discussion, that along with all your chat history was wiped on ban due to the nature of the ban not to mention me re posting it here would violate the forum posting guidelines. You then were encouraging someone else who had also made a racist comment to continue doing so. That's why you were banned.
-
The ban was a result of comments made that were in violation of the conduct policy and were encouraging others to do the same.
It was section 2 offences not section 1 as nick suggested, that was my bad banning on my phone.
There's a conversation ongoing as to if this falls under section 1b as a result of this not being the first time you have been sanctioned from discord, and the ongoing behaviour was deemed inappropriate.

The MBServer and these forums have now been moved to the new infrastructure so hopefully if there were any hardware bottlenecks they've been removed now.
-
Added dates for the bungee and Freedom-01 outages that are coming up next weekend.
-
@StevenNL2000#7511 They are currently fairly high on the priority list. I'm hoping to spend a decent amount of time playing with them once I've finished all the current migration activities and re-jigging infrastructure around.

@videogamesm12#7498 Vouch, but the old data definitely should be made available for download if this goes through.
Which is part of the challenge, because CoreProtect doesn't make it available.
I'm also still trying to decide if I want to make CoreProtect data available separate to that of the maps. Where we do wipe the maps I'm generally happy to make it available, but something doesn't quite sit right with me with making the files available for a running server / map...
-
@Telesphoreo#7496 Which works great for flatlands (Which might be quite enough) but doesn't help if we want to delete data from the other worlds, which is something we will eventually want to do when we start to split the worlds out into dedicated server instances, which is why I started to look at sensible ways to selectively delete for example.
And yes we could update the command, but to be honest given CoreProtects quite frankly shite setup with databases in general, I'm not entirely sure I trust it to actually do what I would expect it to do any more anyway and again, only solves the issue for deleting data, not selectively moving data...
-
@Darth#7492 Because that's also logged by CoreProtect...? And as seen by recent events, having the rollback information is fairly important to roll back damage that might end up getting done.
-
For clarity, if we do a total wipe of the CoreProtect database we would wipe all of the maps.
I'm looking at options to do a more selective wipe at the moment, but we would effectively totally re-set Freedom-01 to day 0 if we drop the CoreProtect Database.
-
@Telesphoreo#7487 If we decide we want to retain both history and the maps (Which we currently do) we will probably end up forking off of an open source alternative and doing so... Pretty much spec'd out how the data needs to be stored and scaled using other technologies, just a fairly low priority.
-
@Ashaz#7476 The fact the chat dies should be the give away... I've seen it when there's been 10+ players on and chat suddenly drops and people just have ignored it... Hell people have been discussing stuff with people IG and just ignore it...

The maintenance scheduled to start in 30mins will NO LONGER result in an outage to the entire TF Network - Hub-02 is now going to be the only server impacted by the outage. Apologies for the confusion there.
Updates will be posted on here - https://status.atlas-media.co.uk/maintenances/nWX7Jj7NHaCR

I'm hoping once we shift Freedom-01 to the new infrastructure a lot of those problems should go away.
I am also in the process (Though I've not had as much time as I'd have liked due to the new infrastructure) of re-writing the scripts to handle re-starts and stuff a bit better, and to let Spigot auto restart itself when it detects it's crashing.
IMHO the biggest issue I've observed is people chatting in server chat and not seeing / noticing / bothering to re-start the server when it's clearly offline. Due to the way the server works and fact that we're killing it too often as it is (And thus losing data like CoreProtect data that hasn't been written yet due to a shit plugin design) I don't really want us to be giving more people that ability, or trying to automate stuff that shouldn't be automated in this way.
-
@Telesphoreo#7459 and equally imagine building a plugin that uses such a poor technology choice with such a poor implementation that it shits its pants when it gets anything over about 20gb

Updated to add stats from today as well.

Today's scheduled maintenance has been completed significantly ahead of schedule. Appreciate everyone's understanding while we are making these improvements.
