@redeastwood#12662 You would be at serious risk of being banned and suspended yes. The rules have always been very clear, if you threaten or commit a violation of UK, US or French law, you will be indef banned. The admins online are expected to exercise judgement on all sanctions, but as far as I am concerned based on the evidence here this ban was fully justified, and the OP should find themselves lucky they aren't on the hook for an indef ban.

@redeastwood#12660 Actually they should, it's a permbannable offence... The conduct policy is very clear on this matter.

So let me clarify then, because this is a wonderfully large shit show already.

lyicx is currently the acting ESL, and as far as I'm concerned that comes with all the bells and whistles that being the ESL gives. Now, what he decides to do with that power is down to him, and I'll still ultimately hold him accountable for the actions of the ESL team during this time.

Now on the flip side, as people have said here, once a permanent ESL is put into place, and if that is not Lyicx, then these changes may be reversed or changed and all that good stuff.

Bottom line here, Lyicx is acting ESL with all the power that comes with it, he's accountable for the ESL Team until further notice so please respect that appropriately.

Darth has been suspended from his admin positions on the server pending a further investigation into reports of behaviours breaching section 1.A of the discord rules along with section 1.I of the server conduct policy.

In agreement with the EAO we have decided to suspend his positions until such a time a more detailed investigation can be concluded based on the evidence which has recently come to light. Due to the nature of the offences all staff ranks including those not directly related to the server has been revoked.

lyicx will temporarily take on any outstanding executive duties as part of the ESL role until such a time the investigation is concluded and a final decision is made on this suspension.

In the interests of not causing WWIII on this thread, I've locked it in advanced. If people have any evidence that may be relevant either in clearing Darth's name or otherwise, please submit such evidence to myself or the EAO.

    Thank you.

I've split this out into a dedicated post because it wasn't really relevant for the original post. Apologies Miwojedk as I managed to trim one of the posts (The first one here) by accident and merging it back will be a pain but yeah...

I've not read through all of this in detail, and am certainly not going to shut the debate down, rather though I do have some comments to chime in just to highlight.

The first is please remember the forum guidelines, and that we're all human. This thread has had A LOT of flagged posts and I've had to delete some and some have been flagged "For no reason". Please be civil in your debate.

I will also say that it is my personal position, along with ATLAS as a companies and therefore by extension TF's as a project of ATLAS that equality and treating each other with respect despite our differences is a core value, as someone who falls within the LGBTQ+ "Name" as it were, there are a number of comments here that are concerning and personally upsetting, especially when those comments have in some cases been given without proper evidence, or are clearly an opinion.

TF will always strive to be accepting and as safe of a place as we can make it for all individuals regardless of background, gender, sexuality, skin colour or anything else. If you're interested in my full thoughts on Equality, I wrote a blog about it a few months back - https://blog.atlas-media.co.uk/2020/06/27/equality/

In short, I'm not here to debate with folks, and I will absolutely support an open forum for discussion, but please remember to be kind to one another, and that there are forum posting guidelines that will be enforced if this spirals again or folks try to thread-jack.

I've split a number of posts that ended up off-topic into a dedicated thread. Apologies but most of the links from the split posts won't work (Part 2,3 and 4) but that's because Flarum wouldn't let me split 100 odd posts in a single go.

Just because it might be of interest to folks, I've finally gotten around to open sourcing the scripts we currently use on the FreeOP Servers to start / stop / otherwise manage the server both through the bot and through users logging on SSH.

You're welcome to make use of them on your own servers, I've used a variant on these since I was looking after CJFreedom and use them quite a bit for local servers when experimenting, and they're pretty good for what I need.

@Ashaz#12082 I don't see how that's an issue?? If you want to smite someone and clear their inventory then you could do something like /smite -ci Ashaz bad blocks for example, rather than having to run /smite -noclear naughtyperson for a reason that has nothing to do with their inventory...

The native /smite behaviour is what we should look to go back to, with the ability to add a clear inventory flag on smite, rather than the other way around was my point.

@videogamesm12#12071 The "Total Freedom" name is something we're slowly moving away from. I don't want us to be limited to a single game type and is why I've even keen to add additional things for players to play on. There's no reason to remove smp to have something else that isn't even ready or fully conceived replace it when in reality we can add additional servers to the network whenever we feel like it.

@fionn#12001 The issue is they won't be able to join on anything that is not 1.16.5 to the network without additional work was sort of my point. Not to mention Viaversion tends to cause stability issues that tend to happen when trying to bodge proticols, which is why we don't support it elsewhere on the network.

I'm not saying we can't do it, but it needs to be clear that actually in reality we will only want to end up targeting a single MC version anyway due to the way we would have to set the hubs and network settings up (I think, will do some further research to confirm that).

Unless there is a really good reason not to, we should really avoid not using the latest version of Minecraft. If SMP is on a different version to the rest of the network we will need to put additional work in to ensure there is a route for players to join and potentially have to re-do a lot of the work on the hubs.
