Given the feedback on here I'm going to decline the suggestion, but am open to thoughts on ways to make this a better experience for everyone involved going forwards, as it sounds like there are certainly pain points that would be good to resolve.

Given StevenNL2000 is the network's ban manager I'm happy to defer this decision to him, but I am in agreement that I would very much prefer forum threads over anything else... I've looked before at options like having some sort of Website where players can appeal and it posts here behind the scenes so players don't have to have forum accounts, but there are implications there.

Just to note, the applications I received were outstanding, and all of the candidates were very deserving of the role, it was genuinely very hard to make this decision, because I could very easily have appointed any of the candidates and be confident of their experience and dedication to the server.

@Fleek#14319 I'll check the NM Database, because I think we store IP's and Geolocations in there for a lot of the analytics it does, if we can pull the data out of these that'd be ideal.
@redeastwood#14320 The issue is most of the sites that get the geolocation are charged (As NM does it and I'm currently having to pay for it)...
To help Fleek track down if the updates to VulnerabilityPatcher are working as expected, and if we've missed anything, could you please reply to this thread if Freedom-01 or Freedom-02 should crash.
We will need as much info as possible to help track down the root cause of the crash, the minimum being what server it happened on and the time stamp of the crash. Other info like how many people were online and what was happening on the run-up to the crash would be useful.
This is there to help us find these issues rather than rely on the Spigot Crash reporting which doesn't appear to work that reliably at the moment.

I will also clarify, I have no expectation for people to fund any work to do with ESL on their own, or spend any of their own money, I know some ESL's have before, but that will play no part in my decision making process because I don't feel it's fair or appropriate to turn this into a bidding war. Please do not feel put off from applying if you can't put money towards the server, as I would never expect folks to need to.
I guess I must have been mistaking them. That's fair, the punishment list and entire setup is on the long term re-write and re-do list or to push TFM events into NM given that's what I'd ideally like to use, which I know does track warnings so must be that which I was thinking was logging warns then.

I don't think the issue in that case is that we're technically missing anything, certainly not anything of major note. The issue comes in that we don't warn folks in the same way, some people will use /say and give them a lecture, some will just /warn them. That combined with it being difficult to search through logs at the best of times just makes it tricky to actually get a fully accurate picture here.
Please don't use polls on suggestions. I don't look at them because flarum doesn't let me see poll votes without voting myself. Which often I don't want to do.
