how long is the ban for?
right now indefinite but that’s pretty much default for all discord bans, or at least in my view is. discord bans are tricky in that unless we use a bot we can’t always set a time limit, so i prefer to just make the majority indefinite and judge it based on appeal time in contrast to the actions

for context you were banned for posting gay porn. no penis was visible but you could see like everything else. You then posted a gif of straight hentai, wasn’t as NSFW but still banned.

I vouch. Mats has routinely been disruptive and downright aggressive to members of this community & staff and in my opinion should not be on here until he gets his shit together and learns how to get along with others
Now despite recent events this is not in fact in relation to one incident, in fact this is in relation to multiple widespread events that has been occurring on TF since even before I came but has been a problem and that problem is mental health & TF being used as an unhealthy coping mechanism. I am going to sound like a heartless dickbag here but this is something I feel is necessary to be saying.
I’m going to put this in its own paragraph and bold: I am not saying you should not come on TF if you are mentally ill or have personal issues. I am not saying you shouldn’t talk about said issues.
Now then that being said, before I even joined there were trends where individuals had mental breakdowns and their coping mechanism was TotalFreedom. I’ll be frank, I’ve been there, where I’ve thrown myself into TF in a time where I didn’t want to be in the real world and I completely understand the need for escapism. However, this does go overboard in some occasions, and there have been examples both recent and historical where users have downright used TF primarily as a coping mechanism in an unhealthy manner; where their actions have caused disruption and distress to others that should not be happening In these cases, mental health problems have become extreme and likely require real life intervention.
I’d like to put this clearly, individuals on TotalFreedom are not suited for psychiatric help, and as a platform we shouldn’t be giving out mental health advice or support for extreme cases. I appreciate sometimes it may not be clear in the moment but it isn’t healthy for some individuals on the community, namely children, to be coping with such intense situations at a young age that could potentially traumatise or harm them. This may seem too much like “but think of the children” but it is a real danger that may happen on TotalFreedom. At the end of the day this is Minecraft, this is not a place where such intense situations should be occurring and I don’t think it’s fair to be putting such a burden on it’s participants. Additionally, other problems like anger issues should not be our burden to bear. I understand sometimes it is difficult to control, and I don’t personally think we should be sanctioning over one outburst if it is an outlier but if it is something out of control that causes disruption we should be taking action as again this platform is not equipped to be dealing with this, especially when staff and other users get verbally abused for just being there and attempting to defuse certain situations
This is just something that has been on my mind. I am also saying this from a place from where I personally have seen issues like this crop up and it has given me personally intense stress that is honestly unnecessary.
1RS was already indefinitely banned from F01 so their entry was simply updated. They need to be banned off the hub and other game modes I don't have access to, however.

Hi all,
1RS is a user who has been banned from TF multiple times over the years they’ve been here. They have been banned at least once per owner under different names (endernator, 1rs etc) and the latest being their appeal here.
So today they joined under another alt on Discord. At this point they are not breaking any rules by doing this, they were not banned from Discord and therefore were allowed alts, but they then started going off on a tirade about how me and Allink were harassing them. They pretended their alt in question (Noone#2072) was not them but just a friend.
They then left the Discord. I was tired of this so I warned them that any further attempts at doing this would cause them to be banned, where they told me they filed an FBI report before blocking me. They then made the same threat to erin with proof that they did in fact file a report to the FBI.
I have proof that they are an alt in that the desktop and taskbar seen in the last image linked is the same desktop and taskbar as in an image sent by 1RS themselves yesterday.
I’d like to request an indefinite, unappealable ban from Discord at the very least. It is against both British and American law to file a false crime report, and people on Discord should not be subject to intimidation and bullying tactics that 1RS is attempting to do. This is also not a new user nor a user that doesn’t know what they are doing; 1RS is a user who has been banned for a long time now and should be held to a higher standard given how many chances they have been given.
Unappealable bans are not something I normally do nor are they something I necessarily agree with unless it’s an extreme circumstance and therefore I do believe this is worthy of one.

It didn't actually work and was trivial to bypass. Likewise it doesn't solve the issue where it would then mean most of the evidence would be staff only, defeating the point of making them public at all.
don’t you think cat 0 and global bans should at least be public explaining why this happened without actually providing proof, which gets shown in admin channels? not saying this should be the case for every single ban but it’d be a half decent idea just because of how much of a big deal global bans are, and generally don’t happen to your average player who’s joined for like a day
Ultimately no, it creates more of a mess than making the entire thing private and requires a considerable amount more work to file such requests. They need to remain on a single thread.
