I can see both sides of this.

I can see how the reccomendation system can be based solely off popularity. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, combined with other factors.

I think what really needs to be done here, is be a bit more strict on reccomendations.

Rather than just saying "Confirmed rec", they should explain in detail why they think they would potentially make a good admin. E.g. what qualities have you witnessed that would want you to reccomend them.

Surely it would make more sense to make like a public google drive upload folder or something. Then you can look at the video, assess it, and whether it's suitable or not. Then publish it. That way, you're not just giving login details to google accounts out of the blue.

Back when I was a super (yup "super"), the idea of the senior admins to me, was that they were your mentors. They were the people who were really looked up to and respected on the server. They were trusted, and basically took functions of what our current EAO does now. Honestly I feel that was a much better approach of doing things.

I feel it would be more transparent, allowing seniors to suspend admins again. Obviously with good reason. Rather than taking it direct to EAO. Because by the time it has been investigated, the issue could have potentially been solved by simply removing them temporarily. Especially when the EAO may not have been given the full context or story as to why an incident potentially occurred.

I always used to remember when shit got serious, a senior admin had to step in. Whether that was doing map resets on clanforge, or using /onlinemode true

Surely, even a simple command from the discord bot would be sufficient.

Following that logic, we can use tf!serverban to prevent users from talking in the #server-chat chanel. But obviously we aren't all discord mods. But, in reality, as i've seen from the original suggestion, the solution would either be:

    • Add an anti-chat spamming feature
    • Allow admins to mute players from the hub, even if it's a discord bot command or something.

It was most likely disabled with intention of fixing it and must have just been overlooked. This command is actually an original TFM feature, added by Madgeek.

Do you have any experience hosting events?
Yes, I have hosted Jackbox events a few times and it's worked out pretty well. Its good fun because I can make the prompts TF relateble too. But in game as well, although not official events I have in the past made some fun events such as spleef arenas/a recreation of the sword battle from Wii sports resort.

Why do you want to be an Event Host?
Because I want to help engage the playerbase a bit more with some fun. I have been an admin for more than 8 years now, and plus, I enjoy making the events as well.

I am going to re-iterate what I said in the previous thread. I understand that making fake official messages is against the rules, especially if they are designed to impersonate admins or frame them.

However, silly messages, as long as they don't break any other rules, I don't get why we are so against this. I will admit iIve used rawsay as few times for a bit of fun. So I don't see why we can't allow ops to do this (I'm not talking about rawsay here btw, i'm talking about the concept of "faking announcements") it's basically the same as using /me to an extent.

We are yet again trying to do something that limits freedom for the sake of it here.
I think it should be allowed as long as it meets this criteria:
1)It has to be an obviously fake message
2)It isn't used in such a way to frame an admin or player, in which case would fall under section 1e.

Tbf, I think, as long as messages are clearly fake, I don't think that they should be against the rules. Like if someone made fake screenshots trying to frame an admin, fair enough that could be more punishable. As a freedom server, I think really, I don't really see the harm. As long as it doesn't break any other rules in the process. It's like using /me imo.

    Anyway, I vouch.
