In the old days, it would work like this:

Applications and voting would commence just like any other applications. But then it would lock, and then a vote would commence in the senior section as to who you would pick.
So say if you had 3 applicants
You would say either 1, multiple or none.

Its pretty clear from what I've seen on the forum the last couple days, that the hub is currently high on the agenda of players. So I've decided, since this is such a big topic, we may as well merge all threads together, to keep track.

    Removing the hub

I’ve seen people vouching for removing it and to stay organised i’ve made this thread. Here is my proposal:
Remove the hub and possibly replace it with a fallback chat server for if the server dies.

    • Freedom will be the default server since everyone joins for just that
    • Skyblock is dead not saying to remove it but just saying its dead and not as important imo
    • Events arent very often and the command can just be put in chat on freedom-01 without problem.
    • If anyone has additional ideas provide them and ill list them (with credit)

    Remove Hub Moderators

Freedom-01 has been getting raided for multiple weeks now, and the raiders have decided to use the hub to spam everyone’s messages in freedom-01. Considering that no one’s really in the hub for most of the time, why does the hub moderator role need to exist? Without it, admins can just take on their role and the raids can be dealt with easier and faster.

So, my two cents on the matter is, that I don't really see a need for the hub, because the only people that seem to be in it are either AFK people, or people who have been banned from freedom-01 anyway lol. I think most of the suggestions surrounding the hub have been amplified from the fact of the recent raids which have been occuring.

    1. What is your full discord name "Jay Jay Underscore JagYewAre#2000"

    2. What is your Minecraft IGN? JJ_Jaguar2000

    3. What is your timezone? GMT+1

    4. Do you have any previous experience in discord moderation or administration?
I currently run multiple discord servers and are familiar with its moderation tools. I also have experience outside of discord, for example forum moderation and I feel that this can contrast into being a discord mod.

    5. Why should you be picked over others? (Describe in 50 words or more)
I have been admin on this server for over 9 years now, and have experienced a vast range of incidents and changes which have occurred on this server. I was also once the assistant exec admin officer, which involved dealing with Admin’s conduct. I feel that even though this role would not just involve admins, I feel that this skillset would transition quite well into this role. To elaborate further on this, it has allowed me to develop experience in handling situations in a certain way.

    6. Describe in 50 words or less how you would be the ideal candidate for this position.
I feel that I would be the ideal candidate for this position because I have experienced discord moderation in the past. Although I don't live in the US timezone, I am available at later hours if needs be.

    7. How much time in the average week can you dedicate to moderation activities on the guild?
Definitely a few hours a day (check my phone quite a lot of the time during the day)

    8. Have you read and also understood our current discord rules? (Yes or No)
      Yes

    9. Have you read and understood Discord’s Guidelines & TOS? (Yes or No)
      Yes

    1. Have you read the note(s) below? (Yes or No)
      yes

      Spicee
Those are two completely different sets of circumstances.

Firstly, the accessing of Ashaz's account, in the eyes of Seth (and some other admins who had involvement in that situation), they saw nothing wrong with that. In fact, the whole thing was intended to be swept under the rug, but someone bragged about it. After someone reached out to Ashaz, and realised he had no knowledge of this, a thread was made and it was brought to light. Subsequently, a vote-off thread was made, which essentially caused the chain reaction of Seth removing the entirety of TF.

But TL;DR, a perfectly justified vote-off as a result of unethical behaviour from owner resulted in server being nuked.

In this case, Ivan attempted to impersonate being an employee of ATLAS. That is actually a cat 0 offence in itself:

    c. Any action / content (of any sort) which brings the reputation of ATLAS Media Group Ltd or its projects (Which include TotalFreedom) into disrepute.

I've been admin here for nearly 9 years and will say that Ivan has been…renowned for this sort of behaviour in the past.. I think he has had his chances and is going to just have to live with that.

    Lyicx,Lyicxyman,Van man,roadman whatever.

I must say you've done a great job as an ECM. Not everyone may appreciate it, but as someone who has seen the lot here, you've done a fantastic job. I completely understand why you want to leave, and wish you best of luck.

But I'll still be seeing you around, (so I can forcekill you) jk, as a fellow Brit we can continue to share the best Tesco meal deal combinations.

I also agree that we should just utilize the server we went on yesterday. The plugin, and the overall design of the courses seem very complex.

I resigned from event host because frankly I didn't have the motivation or the time to even put up with making events. What I do learn about this community is that if they can break something or make fun of it, they will. I only ever hosted one event and it was a shit show.

But I will say, your motivation for creating events is great, and its what we need in ECM. After 9 years of being admin on TF I have learned that people are very much to their ways on this server. Especially if its not what they want, which results in exactly this. I don't blame you, as an ECM for what went on yesterday, and I think of it as someone who has thrown their toys out the pram.

I vouch, I don't see a reason not to. Its a feature which I've always liked. We had it temporarily removed from admin to have less incentive for being admin, but that was stupid, instead of giving it to everyone, no-one was allowed it apparently.

Similar to what erin said, I had a similar thought from this suggestion:

I don't get why we can't just have actual custom logins like before. If they get abused, then they will be removed from that player with no refund of coins. If they're stupid enough to spend all that time getting coins to then abuse the system then it sucks to be them lmao.

characterslimits Object, You only want to switch because of nostalgia. I get it, you want to relive the old days and change sucks.

"You only want to switch because of nostalgia", is an incredibly vast assumption to make. That may well be one of the reasons, since this server has been running for quite a long time.

But other reasons I prefer to switch:
    -Private messaging
    -Much better moderation tools
-Categories are laid out a lot better, and simple to navigate between
-Search function which basic and advanced search
-A support forum which can be used when there is bugs/issues

The only reason we are actually here is because seth went against the vast majority of voters to get his way. The only reason we are still on Flarum is because Ryan wanted it to remain from where we left off. The other reason we are still here is because proboards is monumentally broken, when the proboards staff restored us, everything is corrupted/unuseable.

There wasn't anything wrong with proboards, I never felt like there was a feature missing. It had everything we ever needed, especially from a moderation point of view.

Eh, adblock, but even if I didn't use that, a small banner ad between the banner and the top category really didn't bug me.

characterslimits Forced “shop” feature (bloatware, additionally it makes our community less child-friendly, kids will start accidently buying virtual items on the forum with real-life money as they don’t know the concept of money)

That is the stupidest comparison I have ever heard lol. That's like, every game ever nowadays with DLC or cosmetic features.

    Quote

characterslimits Increased unappealable bans, as we will have to start enforcing ProBoards TOS (violaing the TOS of any platform is a Catagory 0 ban)

and? Did we ever experience problems like that in the 8 or so years we ran the forum?

    @'wxtermelon'

That is not relevant to the topic at hand, make another thread, this thread is a shitshow enough without going off topic.

My two cents on the situation is this.

I don't believe Noah should provide documentation, however I do agree with what erin said, that to play it safe we wait around a year, since he admitted he was 12.

I understand nicks reasoning to provide documentation, as I have seen it done on other servers. However in this case I don't believe it's appropriate asking someone underage for ID.
An example I saw on another server was for an 18+ party they asked people to provide ID.
