matscalle make it so we can invite a bot named something like TF-CHAT or just totalfreedom and that we can have the minecraft chat inside of our own discord servers

This would be chaotic... imagine messaging from a different server and no one having any clue on what is coming from where...

    I am neutral for now...

I honestly think this whole situation is being taken too far, when it shouldn’t have to be. There is so much evidence to prove that Noah’s age is 13 - from witnesses to even server logs that people probably didn’t even know existed.

Let’s also not forget that Noah might not even be his real name. Although Discord allows servers to request ID, I don’t think it’s fair to ask someone, who clearly meets the requirements, to prove that they’re 13. Has anyone even thought about how he might structure that question to his parents? His guardians? Someone he can get an ID from?

What about when said person finds out it is sent to a stranger on the internet?

I guess logic is a true issue for TF. It’s ironic that we let NSFW builds on the server (where there’s a bigger chance of people younger than even 10 being there), yet ask for ID on a discord server where the odd meme is about among us.

Looks like we need to start asking for ID for the minecraft server too.

Thanks to the efforts of Lyicx and Ayunami, we have managed to make a setup where those who don’t have access to Discord can see the stream from the Events Server.

8PM GMT/3PM EST. See you then!

Today (New Years' Eve) a Jackbox Event is taking place. We're letting you guys pick the party pack and the game (we have party packs 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8). If our wifi is strong enough, we'll mirror it to YouTube for people without Discord.

We're starting at 8:00 PM GMT / 3PM EST! The event will take place in General VC #1 See you then!

Event Hosts currently have the power to mute by the bot. However, I think this feature needs to be removed as it’s never been used for events. Additionally, an event host won’t stop troll muting erin.

    Thoughts?

The current definition of the Discord Manager is:
“This role will be responsible for the overall day-to-day running of the Discord server, and helping to form the overall strategy when it comes to content and structure in the Discord Server.”

In this thread, I would like to discuss some changes I believe we should make to the Discord Manager role.

One change is due to the fact that we have an administration team in place already. Currently, there are 3 discord administrators. If the DM is meant to be managing all that they do in their role, what is left for the administration team?

Secondly, instead of the DM controlling everything, a Head Mod should be in place. I’m currently managing an 11,000+ member discord, just like the DM does. However, a difference is that we have a Head Mod in place. This means that I go nowhere near the mod team unless I set up anything like ban appeals (but I don’t handle them). I believe a system like this would help our server.

A further point of discussion I’d like to open is, what is really the point in having a Discord Manager? Ideally the Administrators (or even a Head Mod) of the server should be running the moderation side. A DM would then just be someone who manages the channels - which is something the mods can do. The context of our server doesn’t really fit the ideal gaming server - where giveaways, competitions and more are hosted.

I believe we should implement some changes to the system, and we need to clarify some positions here. It’s a bit messy right now.

@'Ryan' Afaik Seth was forced to adopt Flarum when people didn’t like the mybb one and Telesphoreo created a shadow flarum forum to Boycott it.

What really happened was, people wanted a forum that looked identical to proboards. However, mybb didn’t support that and it caused an outrage. Flarum made it look more similar and people accepted it.

Tizz It’s Ryan’s platform, not yours.

Although it’s Ryan’s platform, apparently Nick is meant to be managing the discord. However, his role definition does not mention moderation, but the ‘day-to-day managing’ of the Discord. The definition is as follows:

“This role will be responsible for the overall day-to-day running of the Discord server, and helping to form the overall strategy when it comes to content and structure in the Discord Server.”

    However, Ryan also included this:

“Nick will be accountable to the Discord Administration team and myself when it comes to the ongoing changes in the Discord.”

The source for this information is here.

bowie Was actually thinking of asking you as you tried it.

I’ve tried this. It’s amazing. It’s a bit like hide and seek, but instead you have zombies. If anyone played cops and robbers as a kid, or hide and seek tag, this is what it’s like.

I vouch for this, and I’m going to talk with Lyicx about hosting it.

I'm sorry if I'm blunt in my reply here.

I and others have been trying to reform the Event Host team, to bring events back in full swing. At the moment, ideas like this don't help at all.

I get that you think you're creative (everyone is in their own way), but that doesn't necessarily mean that your idea is good. If you suggest an event, actually think about how much effort may need to be put in to make this event work. You can help make it easier for the rest of us by showing what kind of resources we could use. Resources could mean anything from datapacks to plugins.

For now, I ask that you post event suggestions for minigames or moderately-complicated events like Capture The Flag. We haven't got the expertise to delve into making things from scratch at the moment. Make the job easier for the team, not harder.

    Edit:
It would also help if you actually answered Erin's question here:

erin As a watcher of the show, have you a more in depth explanation? The article doesn’t explain it very well.
