This suggestion is for the platforms that currently use DiscordSRV (such as events-01, anarchy-01).

EssentialsXDiscord is a module of EssentialsX that brings a 'simple' and 'easy-to-use' bridge between Minecraft and Discord. I've not done much research into how it performs compared to DiscordSRV, but from what I've heard it works pretty well.

There's a few key features that I like about this module, such as being able to define exactly which in-game commands server members can use. This can be used to grant more commands easily to server members, such as /tps. If this is also installed on Freedom-01, we can make it so people can run /opall from the server, too.

There's also an option to disable everyone seeing what commands you do. This can prevent the chat being spammed with a lot of commands, but for our server I think having commands visible is best, to keep a track of who does what (we do have console for that too, though).

By default, pings and markdown filters are enabled, but this can be disabled if needed. You can also define 'admin-roles' and 'allowed-roles' - these are to define which roles can perform which command.

I believe that EssentialsXDiscord will be a great addition to our server, as a move away from DiscordSRV. It's not something that's urgent to replace but I know that in the next few weeks more servers are launching so it would be good to try something like this out.

On the 21st February 1952 many university students, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, were killed whilst trying to protect their right to speak the language of Bengali. This happened when Pakistan had control over Bangladesh.

The Pakistani soldiers had forced our people to read, write and speak in Urdu. This wasn’t tolerated by the students, who so desperately wanted to speak their language.

In 1999, UNESCO declared the 21st of February as ‘International Mother Language Day’. This date was chosen to remember the language movement by the Bangladeshis.

    Happy International Mother Language Day!

    Good news!

Square's plugin was tested by Charge, me and a few others who were on FR01 at the time. It turned out to be a good test event, and I've forwarded feedback to Charge on the test event too.

We hope to host an event based on this plugin soon. It won't be minismp based, though.

RedEastWood So are you saying that Lyicx is gatekeeping his MiniSMP idea and we are not allowed to use it anymore?

No, he just doesn’t want any events hosted for now involving minismp on TotalFreedom. I believe this is mainly due to people ruining it and not appreciating the work that went in to the last event. It can be really demotivating.

Noah I’m all for minismp but the original creator (Lyicx) has asked us not to host events involving the idea anymore.

I really liked the idea but certain people ruined it for the community. I’d like to respect Lyicx’s wishes.

Disclaimer: These threads are usually created by the ECM, but in the last 24 hours I have been granted extra jurisdiction over the event host team by Charge.

It’s the half term holiday for me and many British people right now. I’d like to plan an event that’s more complex than a usual event, as I have more time.

    I’ve got a few ideas:

    • Square’s Zombie Plugin Event
    • Build Battle Event
    • Bedwars Event

My ideas are quite limited at the moment but I’m willing to explore further than just have the usual minismp or spleef event. If you’ve got any ideas, please post any more information that would help me or Charge to plan them. We have a whole event server available, of which we can use as much as we want. I’d like to take advantage of it and host good events for the community.

    Post any ideas below!

    Introduction

This thread has been something I've been wanting to do for a while. In my original thread about which phone to choose, I changed my mind multiple times. I had made my final decision (or so I thought) and decided it would be the Samsung S20 FE. However, my mind still wasn’t so confident when I had made that choice. I didn’t buy the S20 FE. Instead, I bought the iPhone 13.

I would like to clarify that I don’t know much about phones, so if I get any facts wrong, please remember this. I'm also not great with large threads so I've kinda made a mini review.

    Model Choice

I initially wanted to get the 128GB model, but this changed, and I went for the 256GB model instead. I’m a photographer with a DSLR and having those photos on a second device like my phone is useful but can be space-consuming.

I’ve chosen the blue model as it looked like one of the best colours. I’ve got a case on it and have had one on since the first day of using the phone.

    Here's what it looks like:

    Moving Data

As I already had an iPhone 6S, which had an iOS later than 11, I could easily move data from my 6S to my 13 over AirDrop. It just requires authentication on the devices via iCloud. I can’t remember the exact values, but around 64GB of data didn’t take long to transfer. The rest of the setup did take a bit of time, though.

    Audio

One of the main pros about this phone is that it has an extra microphone, located underneath the higher camera. The benefit of this extra microphone is that it works well when one wants to do cinematography with the all-new cinematic mode on the 13 – more on that later. Also, on the iPhone 6S, my old phone, I had 2 speakers – one for calls coming through, and one underneath for other audio. This has changed on the 13, as both of the speakers output ‘other’ audio such as media. To me, this feature is brilliant as when I watch videos, the audio comes out like surround sound.

    Accessibility

A feature that has been in the last few iPhones is the double-tap and triple-tap feature, for the back of the phone. This is a feature I don’t use, but I find it very useful. You can configure these ‘taps’ to be certain features like turning your flashlight on and opening your camera – but that’s not the limit. The accessibility also continues into Siri, with its ability to transcript exactly what you say. Words like ‘Ashaz’ are not something I’d expect it to understand, but it did. It even goes as far as pronouncing my contact’s names right too. I’ve also found that I’ve been using Siri on a daily basis now, which is something I never used to do.

    Face ID

I like Face ID – it’s very quick and flexible for features like paying, but not as quick when unlocking. The phone ensures you’re looking at the camera before unlocking it, which boosts the security. I still am a firm believer though that Apple should have brought back Touch ID into this phone, whether in the form of the power button or some kind of onscreen technology. I don’t mind my phone not having it, but it would be a nice feature.

    Cinematic Mode

A feature that is specific to the 13 series is Cinematic Mode. I’ve not used this mode much but I’ve tested it with a few people and it works pretty well. The phone can detect when subjects of a ‘scene’ change, such as person A looking towards person B. I hope that Apple continues this feature on into their future phones, as this feature enables my phone to take cinema-like videography.

    One Month Later

I’ve had this phone for over a month now and I can safely say that this was probably the best choice of an upgrade. As a user who doesn’t expect much from a phone, I’m happy with the purchase and I think the phone exceeds my expectations, given my experience with the iPhone 6S. I hope with future IOS updates that this phone also continues to improve.

matscalle important anouncement as of my being banned by @wxtermelon

    Yeah, no.

I didn't ban you, I filed a temporary ban request because your behaviour was a large concern, both to the team and me. You're probably still gonna hold on to the grudge and firm belief that I banned you, but I didn't. Those that voted were in favour of your ban, with there being no objection.

We suggested the ban for your own good.

Farewell, Lyicx. I'm glad to have learnt the ins and outs, the ropes, and so much more of the role of Event Host under your leadership. Your support, during some of the hardest parts for me on TotalFreedom, does not go without gratitude. I'm so thankful that you were here for the event host team, the admin team and me.

Good luck on your future endeavours.
